Job Description

Sutherland is seeking a reliable and organized person to join us as a Lead Server Administrator. We are a group of energetic and driven individuals. If you are looking to build a fulfilling career and are confident you have the skills and experience to help us succeed, we want to work with you!  Professional Linux Server Administrators in this role get to: Be the Expert: be in charge of the administration and maintenance of the remote monitoring and management system., updating of agent scripts, responding to alerts, monitoring dashboards, and conducting periodic system review. Monitor and respond to Critical / warning system alerts. Good knowledge, Administration and Troubleshooting on Linux Servers. PCI control awareness and implementation. System documentation and consulting services to include system reviews and recommendations. 

1. Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems and related software.

2. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability of Linux-based infrastructure.

3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement Linux-based solutions that meet business needs.

4. Implement and maintain security measures to protect Linux systems from unauthorized access and ensure compliance with industry regulations.

5. Automate system administrative tasks using scripting languages such as Bash or Python to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

6. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls to ensure proper system security and data integrity.

7. Install, configure, and maintain network services, including DNS, DHCP, and LDAP.

8. Collaborate with software developers and system analysts to troubleshoot and resolve software compatibility issues on Linux platforms.

9. Evaluate and recommend hardware and software upgrades to improve system performance and scalability.

10. Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems, including Ubuntu, CentOS, or Red Hat.

11. Proficient in Linux command-line interface (CLI) and shell scripting.

12. Experience with virtualization technologies, such as VMware, Hyper-V, Cloud

13. Familiarity with networking concepts, protocols, and services, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and VPN.

Qualifications

2. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly identify and resolve technical issues.

3. Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

4.Strong communication skills to effectively communicate technical concepts and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

5. Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.

6. Proven work experience as a Linux Administrator or a similar role.

7. Experience with configuration management tools, such as Ansible or Puppet, is a plus.

8. Knowledge of cloud platforms, such as Google Cloud, Azure is advantageous.

9. Familiarity with monitoring tools.

10. Ability to adapt to new technologies and stay updated with industry trends and advancements in Linux administration.
