Cisco Meraki is the industry leader in simple, secure, intelligent networking, security and IoT platforms. We empower organizations everywhere – from local libraries to global hotels – to focus on their mission and have technology that simply works.

Cisco has been named #1 Best Company to Work For in the U.S. by Fortune in 2021!

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for an expert design leader who can lead our converged platforms initiatives across Cisco’s SD WAN, Switching and Routing platforms. You’ll help govern and drive customer-centered UX strategy and execution of Discovery and Delivery activities with a focus consistency, quality, and efficiency in workflows across these platforms.

This role demands gaining deep domain knowledge, product expertise and understanding of highly complex customer use cases and deployment models to further connect the dots between different product workflows to create a seamless user experience. You will partner deeply with cross functional teams, develop relationships and advocate for a UX-focused-UX-first approach.

Our team's primary focus is on software, but we also find opportunities to collaborate with teams across the organization and think about how to improve the entire customer journey. Meraki believes the quality of our products is dependent on the quality of our teams. We place a high value on nurturing the growth and development of everyone on our team. On the Design Team, we give and get feedback early and often, share what we know, and learn from each other.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and govern a user-centered strategy that will help drive strategy towards convergence, cohesion and quality across dual Meraki and Cisco platform deployments to then create a seamless integration with Meraki Dashboard.
  • Drive early discovery work, use learnings to create short, mid, long term delivery roadmap and lead a team of UX designers who will help execute against it
  • Guide the design of large, complex initiatives that span multiple products.
  • Translate what may start as ambiguous business needs into clear customer-focused solutions.
  • Contribute with hands on design and architectural concept maps and story boards representing those use cases
  • Craft abstracted and simple UX solutions to these highly complex technical challenges.
  • Craft stories and prototypes that help others envision the strategy and desired outcomes for both the customer and the business.
  • Provide direction to and mentor other designers.
  • Facilitate workshops, sketching and prototyping sessions; build documentation and templates that enable others to consume and contribute
  • Build effective working relationships and bring the wider team into the design process.
  • Ensure cross-product and cross-platform consistency through influence, bridge-building, and socialization.

YOU'RE AN IDEAL CANDIDATE IF YOU HAVE:

  • 12+ years of professional experience designing and delivering products in cross-functional teams from start to finish.
  • Experience designing for networking or other highly complex enterprise solutions.
  • A proven track record of shipping large scale enterprise products.
  • Standardizing and simplifying feature sets across multiple platforms.
  • Ability to zoom out and see the bigger picture, while zooming in to rationalize and perfect the nuanced details.
  • Designing user-centered, task-based taxonomies.
  • Aligning teams around customer-centered design decisions.
  • Making complex problems and workflows feel simple and approachable.
  • Balancing strategic research and discovery with shipping often.
  • Persuasive storytelling and influence.
