The Role

The Lead Product Development Manager - Agile Product Manager is responsible for defining and prioritizing the Program Backlog (Features) for the Platform Applications Solutions Growth (PAS) Value Stream.

As a Product Manager, you are accountable for the features content decisions for your Agile Release Train (ART). Working closely with the Solution Managers, Product Owners and internal cross functional teams, this role is responsible for the overall program backlog of a portfolio. You will own and prioritize the program backlog of features, collaborating with other roles to provide the content development teams will consume to provide outstanding customer value and amazing solutions. You are also responsible to streamline the execution of program priorities, while maintaining conceptual and technical integrity of features or components for which the team is responsible. This role reports to the PAS Sr. Manager Agile Product Manager.

The Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the program backlog and its deliverables
  • Gather and define what functionality is needed at a feature level: create content and acceptance criteria
  • Optimize the value of the development team’s work (ART’s) and program backlog
  • o Via prioritization to meet the objectives of the ART and the individual Teams
  • o Collaborate with ART participants to identify value and proper priority
  • Clearly prioritize & express program backlog items and present at events
  • Ownership of feature plan and roadmaps, including features delivery plan and time line that incorporates sales, ops readiness and communications, network and system testing, and go to market launch plans as applicable
  • Develop release plans and backlog
  • Status communication to Solution Manager/Lead Product Manager
  • Coordinate cross ART dependencies with Release Train Engineer (RTE)
  • Participate and contribute to PI reviews and various SAFe ceremonies, including Product Owner meetings with the teams
  • Confirm “Done” work in a review
  • Work with Quality Leads to identify business test cases

What We Look For in a Candidate

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience contributing to or leading strategic product launches in the telecommunications or technology industries
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience
  • Experience with technologies and best practices across multiple platforms
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage time effectively, in a constantly changing environment
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with individuals at all levels
  • Ability to efficiently utilize MS Office Suite of Applications specially Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with software or product development
  • Experience with SAFe Agile Project Management methodology
  • Experience with JIRA/JIRA Align
  • Product development in the technology industry
  • Agile or project management certification

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
