Job Description Summary
General Electric Vernova has an opening for a Senior Structural Designer. The Designer will provide drafting and detailing support for structural design of the BWRX-300 Reactor Building from preliminary phase through construction documents.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Preparation of 3D Revit structural or electrical models and 2D drawings and details of structural building systems.
- Create definitions of parts, modules, and assemblies in the form of 3D models, 2D cross sections, section details, tolerance stack-ups, and various electronic data formats to support analysis, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, and inspection.
- Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a structural discipline, analytical thinking, and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
- Has knowledge of structural drafting and design best practices, including interfaces with mechanical piping, HVAC and electrical.
- Design activity will require knowledge of design principles and drafting procedures.
- Work with BIM coordinator to manage and issue models in Autodesk Construction Cloud tool while enforcing configuration management plan.
- Support Plant Arrangement and Layout in 3D model (Navisworks, Revit).
- Proficient in Revit & Autodesk suite of tools.
- Uses technical experience and analytical thinking.
- Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
Required Qualifications
- An Associates degree in Mechanical Design (or similar) 3 years of experience in structural or electrical drafting for heavy industrial, thermal power, nuclear industry or similar industries.
- OR at least 5 years of relevant work experience in structural or electrical drafting for heavy industrial, thermal power, nuclear industry or similar industries.
- Minimum 3 years of experience using Revit for structural and or electrical modeling.
Eligibility Requirements
- The preferred work location for this role is at the GEH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC; but highly qualified (US based) remote candidates will be considered.
- Ability and willingness to pass a background check and obtain specific OPG Security Clearance.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience managing project work schedules and priorities.
- Work proactively with Engineering teams to develop 3D Model in Autodesk Tool suite (Revit)
- Work within a team environment to execute work plans and schedules as applicable for mission success.
- Perform work in compliance with policies and procedures.
- Competency in computer programs and software such as Microsoft products and Microsoft teams.
The salary range for this position is $99-140k. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus.
