As a Learning Experience Designer on BetterUp’s Learning Experience Design team, you will be part of a creative and multidisciplinary group developing science-backed digital learning experiences for our end users (i.e. members) that are delightful, engaging, and measurably effective. You will help advance our mission of human transformation by designing evidence-based interventions and creating compelling content for our growing library of digital modalities. You represent the voice of BetterUp, ensuring we develop human-centered content that reflects our brand: zesty, trustworthy, engaging, and real. This is a creative and detail-oriented role that requires an empathic, team player mentality, and the ability to plan and execute in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. You thrive in managing a variety of responsibilities, and you respond with openness, curiosity and resourcefulness to shifts in prioritization and the broader business environment. 

What you’ll do:

  • Design innovative digital experiences that enable learning, practice, and sustainable behavior change
  • Own end-to-end content creation and design for current and new content offerings in a highly collaborative and cross-functional environment, using UX, learning, and behavioral science principles
  • Prototype and test learner-centric blended learning experiences 
  • Partner cross-functionally with key partners to evaluate impact and continuously improve content experiences 
  • Tailor existing content in line with BetterUp’s evidence-based standards to meet customer needs
  • Consult with subject matter experts to ensure that content creation and quality are aligned with BetterUp’s standards for scientific rigor
  • Initiate and own ad hoc projects from end-to-end, collaborating seamlessly with stakeholders

If you have some or all of the following, please apply:

  • MA/MS preferred in psychology, interactive/graphic design, HCI; or 5 years of experience in a similar role with a Coaching or behavioral science background
  • Experience conceptualizing, prototyping, and designing user-facing content, ideally on behavioral science topics, across different forms of media
  • Comfort with AI and how to leverage it as a tool for content design efforts
  • Experience in developing synchronous and asynchronous innovative curricula and experiences to support learning and development (self-guided courses, digital interventions, interactive content, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate and work visually, bringing experience designs to life with simplicity, clarity, and interactivity
  • Passion for designing content related to coaching, mentorship, behavior change, psychology, and other fields that relate to human well-being, development and flourishing
  • Multi-stakeholder project management experience, and the ability to effectively liaise between sales, product, and science/research stakeholders
  • Creativity and desire to experiment with novel technologies and solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong service orientation and collaboration skills
  • Highly organized and strategic thinker with the ability to prioritize and make decisions with bias towards action
  • Ability to thrive amidst ambiguity, change, and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment

At BetterUp, we compensate our employees fairly for their work. Base salary is determined by job-related experience, education/training, residence location, as well as market indicators. The range below is representative of base salary only and does not include equity, sales bonus plans (when applicable) and benefits. This range may be modified in the future.

The base salary range for this role is $108,650 – $201,450.

If you live in New York, the base salary range for this role is: 

$134,300 – $201,450 : New York City

$126,400 – $189,600 : Nassau, Newburgh

$108,650 – $177,950 : Albany, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse
