Legal Assistant (Japanese & English)

We are seeking highly motivated individuals passionate about problem resolution, who enjoy assisting lawyers, and thrive on interacting with people. The Legal Assistant will be an integral part of our legal team, working alongside attorneys and fellow legal assistants. Being proactive, and possessing a passion for excellent customer service, along with a background in law, experience in client interaction, and strong problem-solving skills, are essential for success in this role.

NOTE: Candidates must be proficient in both English and Spanish, both spoken and written. Only resumes in English will be considered. This application is open to individuals who permanently reside in any Latin American country.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a substantial caseload efficiently
  • Communicate promptly and professionally with clients
  • Prepare immigration and other legal forms if necessary
  • Adhere to instructions and policies to ensure the firm's and client's well-being
  • Assist attorneys with various tasks, including legal memo writing and legal research
  • Work at a fast pace while maintaining attention to detail
  • Foster a collaborative team environment

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in law
  • Minimum of two years' experience as a legal assistant or law clerk
  • Native Japanese proficiency
  • Advanced English level (speaking, writing, and reading)
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively with senior legal assistants and attorneys by following instructions
  • Capability to constantly analyze case strategies and perform research for optimal outcomes
  • Excellent prioritization skills while adhering to deadlines
  • Ability to work independently on multiple projects with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain a tidy workspace
  • Proficiency in proofreading legal documents and ensuring accuracy
  • Concise and eloquent writing skills
  • Collaborative mindset and willingness to think creatively
  • Strong attention to detail and proactivity skills
