Position Overview:

A Legal/Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring that an organization's activities comply with laws, regulations, policies, and standards. They are a key part of an organization's governance, risk, and compliance strategy. 

Requirements

Must Have Qualifications:

  • Min. 5 years of experience in legal and compliance roles
  • Min. 5 years of experience overseeing and monitoring audits of the US Dept. of Energy’s Weatherization Assistance Program

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in managing contracts and litigation matters
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Bachelor’s/master’s degree in law, business or related field
  • Must speak and write English fluently
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments

Location: Remote in the U.S.A.

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

Skill Level: Intermediate to Advanced

Education: Bachelor’s degree or better in law, business, or related field.

Areas of Expertise: Corporate Legal Compliance, NFP Legal Compliance, Legal Research, Contract Review, Policy development, Utility Law, Climate Law

Compensation: $100K Annually

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract review of all ICAST programs & projects 
  • Researching legal requirements for new programs & markets. 
  • Manage the development and implementation of policies and help ICAST convert them into actionable procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations for our various Programs.
  • Monitoring compliance by analyzing internal systems to ensure compliance, while monitoring business operations for infraction and corrective action.
  • Be the interface to other departments to educate colleagues on legal and compliance requirements.
  • Stay up to date on changes to laws and regulations that may impact the organization's operations.
  • Manage the organization's contracts, intellectual property, and litigation matters
  • Provide legal guidance to the executive team and other employees as needed
