1Password is looking to hire a Legal Operations Specialist to join our growing Legal team! Reporting to the Manager, Senior Legal Operations you will play an important role in supporting the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our Legal department. You will work closely with our legal team and cross-functional teams to streamline operations, manage resources and projects, and maintain compliance.

The ideal candidate has experience in data management, contract management, project management, reporting and building automations within the various tools used by the team, and is interested in exploring AI solutions to enhance our legal processes.

This is a remote opportunity within Canada and the US.

What we're looking for:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in legal operations or equivalent paralegal experience, with background in-house at SaaS or other technology company preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of project management experience and proven organizational and time management abilities
  • Intellectually curious and embraces technology to enable and automate business processes
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly scaling environment 
  • Strong background in managing data, reporting, document management and tracking tools.
  • Experience developing forms, processes, and policies
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google suite, DocuSign, Adobe
  • Skilled problem solver with the ability to create and communicate solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong attention to detail, commitment to data accuracy, and proven ability to work with sensitive and confidential information
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with peers, business leaders, internal stakeholders, and vendors

What you can expect:

  • To collaborate with the Manager, Senior Legal Operations, assist with identifying and implementing organizational and operational process improvement, workflows, and automation opportunities to meet the growth trends and operating needs of the legal organization
  • Assist in identifying and implementing legal department tools to streamline new or existing practices, as well as helping design, rollout, and provide training for new systems
  • Assist in management and administration of all legal and compliance systems to maintain data integrity and support stakeholders
  • Assist the Manager, Senior Legal Operations in preparing, monitoring, and tracking legal department metrics, including key data points aligned to the legal department’s goals and objectives and other performance metrics
  • Handle incoming internal legal request routing, including developing and implementing new processes to do so effectively
  • Provide support for, and maintain, the legal document management and contract management systems
  • Investigate denied party screening matches that arise from our screening solution, adjudicate accordingly, and communicate findings to internal stakeholders.
  • Help enforce processes and policies to manage outside counsel usage and spend, workflow and metrics, and overall e-billing operations requirements
  • Assist in updating and maintaining repository for templates, playbooks, policies, and process documentation
  • Support and handle a variety of ad hoc projects within the team as they arise
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable and support the business and ensure compliance while maintaining focus on overall legal and business strategy

Bonus points for:

  • Experience with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), e-billing (outside counsel billing), procurement, and denied party screening software

USA-based roles only: The Annual base salary for this role is between $94,000 USD and $127,000 USD, plus immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.

Canada-based roles only: The Annual base salary for this role is between $87,000 CAD and $117,000 CAD, plus immediate participation in 1Password’s generous benefits program (health, dental, RRSP and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
