The Linux Systems Administrator, Jr. will have the opportunity to be a key player in maximizing business continuity not only for TrustCommerce, but also for countless partners and customers that use TrustCommerce products. In this role the Linux Systems Administrator, Jr. will administer and support Linux-based and other data center technologies to maximize technological business continuity, resiliency, resumability, and recoverability. Responsibilities will include participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation, issue/ticket triage and resolution, Linux and Linux-based software administration, some Linux scripting, automation, and participation in related engineering activities.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:    

·      Maximize business continuity for TrustCommerce, business partners and customers

·      Administer and support Linux-based and other data center technologies

·      Maximize technological business continuity, resiliency, resumability, and recoverability.

·      Participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation

·      Issue/ticket triage and resolution

·      General Linux and Linux-based software administration duties

·      Some Linux scripting, automation, and participation in related engineering activities.

·      Comfort in dynamic, fast-paced, high-pressure environments

·      Solutions, details, and results orientation

Environment/Conditions

This will be fully remote. This is a full-time position. Monday to Friday. Core office hours will be 8 hours within the range of hours. Depending on assigned responsibilities or projects, some nights and weekends will be required. This position will require ON CALL STATUS. Ability to travel within CON-US roughly four times annually

Requirements

  • Minimum four years experience with command-line Linux administration
  • Proficiency in command-line Linux administration
  • Experience in Linux shell scripting (Bash is a plus)
  • Experience with containerization/virtualization (vSphere/vCenter is a plus)
  • Experience with large data systems
  • Experience with data center operations
  • Comfort in 24x7, mission-critical on-call operations

Education and Experience:

·      Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or IT related field

·      In lieu of Degree, comparable experience in Systems Administration related work

·      Knowledge of secure systems.

Preferred

·      Proficiency with Linux Command-Line

·      Proficiency in Bash or other Linux Shell Scripting

·      24x7 Mission-Critical Operations

·      vSphere/vCenter experience

Annual base salary range from $75K - $100K

The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the Sphere salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and be based on various factors, such as qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. The base salary is one component of Sphere’s total compensation package for employees.
