Visual Lease is currently seeking a Manager of Cloud Operations to lead our CloudOps team in Woodbridge, NJ. In this role, you’ll lead, inspire, and grow our team responsible for all hosted infrastructure, security, and deployment operations in Amazon Web Services (AWS). This position provides a unique opportunity to make a major contribution in a fast-paced, rapidly growing technology company.
The Cloud Operations teams is at the center of everything we do at Visual Lease. CloudOps supports Engineering, Product Management, Support, and Implementation teams with all hosted service, data, and configuration requests. With our recent migration to AWS, we are now capable of advanced monitoring, automation, and performance tuning. The ideal Cloud Operations Manager is an experienced hand-on leader who’s passionate about: AWS, operational excellence, process improvements, and building a high performing team.
What You Will Do
- Manage, grow, and develop our Cloud Operations team of 5-8 team members – consisting of AWS Cloud Engineers, DevOps Engineers, and DBAs
- Own our commitment to an application Uptime of 99.99% or better
- Manage all maintenance, update, and deployment schedules, change communication and roll-out success
- Drive operational excellence through better documentation, refined processes, and better measuring of results
- Represent the Cloud Operations team to the larger organization, collaborating cross-functionally with a variety of technical, service, and sales teams.
- Act our hosted Information Security expert, answering questions, enforcing best practices, and managing internal and external security services
- Evangelize and promote Engineering adoption of serverless technologies and other native AWS managed services
- Increase the level of infrastructure automation to bring consistent, immutable servers
- Drive continuous monitoring and alerting around infrastructure, server and application availability & performance
- Serve as a key stakeholder of our SOC hosting policy documents and manage the roll out of processes and practices that meet and exceed our SOC controls
- Manage and improve our DevOps practices to deliver high quality software more quickly using Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CICD) pipelines to run automated testing & code scanning
- Build and share visible metrics around: hosted health, cost, performance, quality, and uptime
Skills & Competencies
- 5+ years’ experience managing technical operations in a SaaS environment
- 3+ years’ experience with AWS and/or AWS Certifications
- Experience recruiting, coaching, and managing high performing teams
- Experience working with technology vendors to evaluated Cloud and DevOps tools & services
- Software development experience and familiarity with Continuous Delivery & Trunk-Based Development concepts
- Agile project management experience using Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe
- Experience with budgeting, cost reporting and forecasting
- Desired Technical Skills:
- Deep understanding of the AWS ecosystem to include: S3, AWS Backup, ECS, EKS, Fargate, Lambda, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, WAF, Aurora Postres
- Experience with Auto-Scaling, Serverless, and Zero-Downtime Deployments
- Technical DevOps experience with configuring build and deployment pipelines
- Object Oriented Programming experience with C# or Python
- CI Test automation tools like Xunit, Pytest, Selenium, Jmeter
- Code Static & Dynamic Analysis tools
- A lifelong learner, and promoter of continuous improvement
- Self-starter with excellent communication skills, influencing, and follow-through skills
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science or related field with 6+ years of engineering experience

- Our headquarters are in Woodbridge, NJ, but we are happy to consider remote candidates in the following states: AZ, CO, DE, FL, GA, IL, MD, MA, NH, NJ, NY, NC, OH, PA, RI, SC, TX, and WA.
- The pay range for this position is $145,000– $170,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, we offer full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per the Pay Band Transparency Act.
