Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
A Manager contributes as an engineering leader within the organization. Typically by providing technical and people leadership for small-medium sized teams that are developing components or services in the overall platform. A Manager will own delivery responsibility for a set of services, components, and/or features within their team area. Coaching, mentoring, team member growth and development is required. Effective communication with other job disciplines is required.
KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Software delivery of set of features, applications, components, or services 15%
- Input on product roadmap at the team level 15%
- Coaches, mentors, directs, and empowers associates through regular 1:1s based on their individual needs and business goals 15%
- Works with Team members to create development plans and provide opportunities for associate to develop new skills 15%

- Provides frequent feedback (constructive or affirmative) to team members, through both informal and formal review processes 15%
- Motivates direct reports to perform at their highest level 10%
Qualifications
EDUCATION
- BA/BS in Computer Science or other technical discipline (e.g., Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics) and/or equivalent relevant and high-performing work experience
EXPERIENCE
- 5-7 years software engineering experience
- 0-2 years experience managing a team
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
- Knowledge of software development life cycle
- Knowledge of relevant technology - big data, programming, data science
- Knowledge of team service architecture
- Ability to effectively delegate, provide feedback, mentor, and guide team to best outcomes
Additional Information
Salary: $150,000 - $160,000
The ultimate compensation offered for the position will depend upon several factors such as skill level, cost of living, experience, and responsibilities.
