As a Manager II, Global Business Services - Payroll Services, you will be part of many payroll related projects. Your responsibility to the success of each project goes beyond day-to-day tasks. These projects involve relationship building, working knowledge of payroll operations, and accomplishing milestones based on project milestones. This role requires partnership with payroll SMEs, business partners, and vendor partners to accomplish your tasks. In addition, you will use creative and critical thinking skills to ensure your portion of the project is well designed and avoids any impact to associate's payroll because the software is changing. This is a project manager position located in Bentonville, AR. This position is not remote-work eligible.

You will make an impact by...

  • Managing the strategy and processes for area of responsibility by partnering with senior leadership to develop the overall strategy; aligning team strategies with the department strategy; evaluating existing processes and identifying areas for improvement; developing processes to drive consistency; developing process strategies to create efficiencies and cost savings in the supplier and contract administration process; overseeing the execution of risk-based strategies; ensuring compliance with set procedures and controls; evaluating outcomes against projected costs and agreements; identifying trends in outcomes and developing processes and training to address them; and ensuring visibility to and training on new processes.
  • Managing the financial performance of assigned business areas by analyzing financial data; comparing data to third-party information, budgets, or actual results; researching and reviewing associates' research of financial information; discussing business impact of information in data and other information to the profit and loss within accounting rules; ensuring audits are managed for timelines and accuracy; and facilitating the relationship between the team and internal customers and external specialists.
  • Managing the execution of standard processes and controls by providing guidance and expertise on company policies and procedures related to financial controls and systems controls; establishing governance for the department on month-end closings and balance sheet accounts; ensuring account balances are recorded and monitored; ensuring proper controls are present in new and existing financial functions; enhancing and ensuring reporting transparency of company financial systems; overseeing adherence to compliance controls; evaluating current practices on a continuous basis; reviewing and evaluating financial statements to identify unusual account variances; and communicating financial metrics and fluctuations to senior leadership.
  • Managing the implementation of complex initiatives and process improvements in area of responsibility by communicating action plans to the team; leading teams through process changes; communicating the business case to key stakeholders; translating strategy into actionable plans; identifying and communicating areas of opportunity to senior leadership; and managing and allocating resources and budget for the department.
  • Assisting multiple cross-functional teams to deliver key business objectives by leveraging cross-functional relationships to align strategic objectives to achieve business goals; providing leadership and direction to cross-functional internal and external teams to allocate and align resources, clarify priorities, and drive deliverables in alignment with corporate goals, objectives, and timelines; providing leadership to prevent or resolve conflicts, mitigate business impact, and position the business to achieve strategic objectives; providing updates to the organization; and eliminating obstacles to ensure key deliverables are met in a timely manner.
