Description

The Manager of Learning Experience Design (LXD) leads LXDs to achieve ongoing strategic objectives of the UKG Learning and Community team. This individual creates and manages long-term goals, assists in prioritizing projects, and monitors performance. This individual must also successfully lead the team through change and manage risks and issues.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about managing people and have experience fostering a learning culture. The individual will influence through data-driven recommendations and seek out innovative learning and community management practices.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manages a global team of professional-level Learning Experience Designers spread across the United States and Europe
  • Leads, coaches, develops, and grows the team
  • Accountable for the performance and results of the team, as well as team morale and overall well-being
  • Adapts plans and sets team goals to meet objectives set by the Learning and Community team strategies
  • Responsible for leading the strategic direction of the team
  • Leads or participates in strategic projects as a contributor
  • Applies experience and knowledge to innovate, analyze, and create solutions to moderately complex problems
  • Champions Learning Experience Design strategies, methods, and tools
  • Provides subject matter guidance to direct reports on operational or technical challenges
  • Understands current business trends and integrates industry best practices in own team to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Networks with subject matter experts and peer managers across the organization to identify, coordinate, and lead opportunities related to curriculum course design
  • Applies change management techniques to ensure the success of the team
  • Participates in Curriculum Course Design continuous improvement activities to provide a world class customer learning experience

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Organizational Development, Organizational Leadership, Adult Learning, Instructional Design, Human Resource Development (HRD) and/or Adult Education (AE), or related field preferred, or a combination of education and experience in a related business discipline.
  • Experience with relationship building at all levels of the organization
  • Minimum 2 years experience successfully leading people and a dispersed team
  • Minimum 5 years experience managing large/complex learning programs, localization of learning, search experience, community management or change management initiatives
  • Skilled in project management, leading a team and working as a member of a team, prioritizing assignments, managing conflict, learning quickly and incorporating prior experience to new problem-solving strategies
  • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Demonstrated experience in creating self-paced and instructor-led courses
  • Able to identify issues, challenges, and gaps associated with content, learning programs and materials, and to propose potential solutions
  • Able to analyze data and make informed recommendations
  • A self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in areas related to Instructional Systems Development (ISD), Human Resource Development (HRD) and/or Adult Education (AE), Information Science/Studies or Archive Management, Library Science (MLS), or equivalent experience
  • Experience using learning development tools such as Articulate 360
  • Experience with structured authoring and content management systems
  • Experience using Design Thinking methodology
  • Experience with Digital Asset Management (DAM) tools
  • Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) systems such as Salesforce
  • Experience developing training for software
  • Experience with virtual communication, meetings and presentations
  • Experience with localization of learning materials
