About the role

Reporting to the Director of Legal Risk you will be responsible for advising on employment law issues and supporting all areas of human resources compliance. You will also be part of a dynamic team advising on employment law and also other areas of legal risk.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Be a trusted advisor to the People Operations team and wider business line stakeholders.
  • Design and shape key employment law compliance and risk management.
  • Continuously evolve our best practices based on data driven metrics so we can scale effectively.

Skills we’re looking for:

  • A licensed paralegal or law clerk with substantial relevant experience (over 5 years) in employment law and litigation at a law firm and/or an in-house legal department.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills with the ability to explain complex legal concepts simply and in an accessible manner.
  • Developed problem solving skills and experience advising on human resources and employee relations issues and other business line-related employee matters.
  • Significant experience composing/drafting legal documents under the direction of counsel, as well as providing support in litigation preparation/management.
  • Demonstrated strength in cross-functional stakeholder management and ability to work with different business functions.
  • Aptitude to lean in and acquire knowledge to advise in other areas of legal risk, including: marketing law and management of production orders.
  • Doesn't believe in one-size-fits-all solutions or sticking with the tried and true. You've seen it all and can advise on what does and doesn't work, but create custom solutions tailored around your understanding of our unique team.
