Risk & Compliance Officer
The Manager, Risk and Compliance job optimizes the operation of the company's risk and compliance programs. As a subject matter expert in risk management, this job supports risk identification, analysis, measurement and mitigation in alignment with corporate standards and in support of multiple business areas (e.g., OCOO, Client Services, Retirement and Product) as well as strategic initiatives. This job also identifies areas of vulnerability within the organization and develops corrective action plans to remediate concerns.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Supports the implementation and execution of risk and compliance strategies to support and protect the organization's operations.
- Coordinates risk management activities and supports the 2nd Line Risk & Compliance teams on strategic initiatives, providing real-time feedback on risks, controls, issues and next steps with appropriate escalation as needed.
- Advises on potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk within the organization.
- Reviews the design of corrective action plans for the resolution of problematic issues and provides expert guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.
- Monitors and guides response to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies and procedures by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures.
- Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk within the organization.
- Interacts regularly with senior leaders within the organization with responsibility for education of the organization's risk and compliance strategies and communication of important risk and compliance matters.
- Prepares presentations and reports for the 2nd Line Risk & Compliance teams, senior leaders and/or the Board of Directors regarding the organization's risk and compliance program.

Qualifications:
Required:
- 5+ years Risk, Audit, Compliance or relevant experience in the financial services industry.
Preferred:
- 7+ years Risk, Audit, Compliance or relevant experience in the financial services industry.
- A self-starter with excellent interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Prior experience in risk management, compliance and/or audit strongly preferred.
- Risk management or business experience in retirement recordkeeping, insurance, broker/dealer and/or product development/management environments.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross functional groups.
- Familiarity with risk identification and mitigation techniques and strategies.
- A highly collaborative business partner who can effectively manage and influence relationships that are widely dispersed both functionally and geographically.
Base Pay Range: $93,000/yr. - $155,000/yr. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
