Position Purpose/Objective:

The Manufacturing Engineer will develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods associated with specialty aircraft seats such as pilot, flight attendant, and observer for commercial platforms. The qualified individual will also recommend and implement improvements for production processes, methods and controls plus provide technical input to the Product and Design groups and technical support to all OEM assembly lines.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Initiates and encourages continuous cost and quality improvements for parts and assembly processes.
  • Performs conventional engineering assignments that may include selecting and recommending fixtures, creating assembly procedures and writing change orders to support assembly.
  • Works closely with department supervisors/managers on a wide variety of activities to include capacity issues, process improvements, tooling, etc.
  • Maintains complete technical oversight of day-to-day operations.
  • Leads/participates in the Corrective Actions Process and provides root cause analysis/corrective actions.
  • Maintains and updates Bill of Operations and/or Materials as required by Engineering changes and continuous improvement activities.
  • Interfaces with Design Engineering on issues related to manufacturability and participates on Integrated Product Development teams as required.
  • Establishes/monitors standard work procedures within the manufacturing assembly line.
  • Establishes creative manufacturing solutions.
  • Leads activities to include training of department personnel and fosters a lean culture through continuous coaching of team members.
  • Ensures quality product utilizing UTAS quality procedures.
  • Audits work area for safety compliance.
  • Adheres to all UTAS rules and codes of conduct.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • This is an onsite position.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of prior relevant experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required
  • Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations
  • Must be a US Citizen

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

The salary range for this role is 62,000 USD - 124,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
