About the Team
The AllTrails marketing team is building a global, beloved outdoors brand. We launch and scale creative and performance-driven marketing levers to bring more people onto the AllTrails platform, and develop compelling angles to engage with and retain existing subscribers.
Job Summary
We’re seeking a Marketing Automation Specialist to join our team and help us drive scalable growth through thoughtful, optimized, cross-channel programs across email, push, and in-app channels. Sitting on the lifecycle marketing team and working closely with engineering, design, and product teams, this role will be responsible for managing our marketing automation platform and fully leveraging its capabilities, including developing best-in-class automated programs that drive engagement, conversion and retention across our users’ lifecycle. The right candidate brings an understanding of marketing automation tools and customer relationship management (CRM) software, and has both creative and analytical attributes.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Manage marketing automation platform, processes and documentation, proactively researching and implementing the latest best practices, strategies, and industry standards
- Utilize technical expertise and understanding of available user data and behaviors in order to manage intake, scope and execution of new projects
- Execute automated cross-channel journeys such as onboarding, nurtures, upsell, retention, etc to improve engagement, conversion, and user experience
- Define audience segmentation and user personas required to support new automated lifecycle marketing initiatives, working with Engineering to create any new user attributes and custom events as needed
- Serve as the point of contact to troubleshoot any technical questions, and collaborate with QA team on testing new programs and/or bug fixes
- Develop and maintain HTML templates for email and in-app messaging, including writing code logic for dynamic content and personalization
- Design and execute experimentations that help improve engagement and conversion impact of automated programs
- Partner with Marketing leadership and other cross functional partners to prioritize engineering requests and streamline processes
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field
- 3+ years of experience developing and implementing marketing automation strategies
- Experience with marketing automation tools and CRMs, such as Braze, Marketo, Iterable or similar platforms
- Comfortable with HTML/CSS and template languages to write code logic for dynamic content and personalization
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues related to marketing automation implementation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Strong independent project management skills, capable of handling multiple tasks with competing priorities under minimal supervision
- Excellent attention to detail
Bonus Points:
- Experience with Braze specifically
- Knowledge of mobile app development and SDK integration
- High-growth or subscription business experience

$90,000 - $110,000 a year
A successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on various factors such as skills, experience, training and credentials, as well as other business purposes or needs. It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range of their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the factors and circumstances of each case.
