This role is a key one required to champion and grow the European markets for iHerb, the global home for health and wellness. iHerb is only just getting started in Europe but already seeing strong double digit growth year after year. The company, already very successful globally, offers much headroom to make an impact in this region. Reporting into the Director for Europe Markets, this role will be responsible for all aspects of marketing. With successful growth over the past five years, the European region still has strong room for growth and requires a multi-disciplined entrepreneurial individual to help build and execute the growth marketing plan. A matrix business with many functions in-house, this role requires someone who is adaptable and able to move quickly between strategy & execution. An analytical data driven personality with passion for performance marketing and a hunger to hit retail targets. Comfortable in high growth environments and very ‘hands-on’, your influence will extend across the wider marketing strategy and retention initiatives with a focus on driving performance using paid media channels.

Job Expectations:

A key part of this role is to provide local European insight to shape and build on the current regional and local market marketing strategy and execution plan. Understanding local customer behaviour, you will provide a clear view of what resonates with customers in our key UK & European markets, designing appropriate communication journeys to drive brand awareness and engagement. With many markets to cover (with some key focus markets) we require somebody who can execute at scale with a mind to automation

  • Build a full funnel strategy to target and acquire new customers in our key target European markets - priorities being UK, Germany, France, Switzerland, Poland, Spain & Netherlands
  • Enhance existing marketing strategy and test different channels to design optimal media mix
  • Collaborate cross functionally to further localize existing digital marketing efforts (paid media, affiliate, CRM)
  • Work with external agencies to manage local marketing execution 
  • Analyse channel reports from the key markets, translate findings into insights and actionable growth tactics. Report daily, weekly results and progress against spend and sales plan. 
  • Reflect key promotional events in local marketing activity. Help to shape relevant local promotions for the channels we work with. 
  • Bring a ‘test and learn’ mindset to try new channels and activities in markets to drive overall brand awareness and customer growth - a full funnel approach which is ultimately measurable
  • Iterate creative to drive performance across channels such as Meta and Tiktok, working closely with internal and external partners to localise and drive performance. 
  • Work closely with Director Europe to plan and test new marketing channel spend which will drive new customer and profitable sales growth i.e. Working with Affiliates & Influencer activity, TikTok & CRM team to drive LTV 
  • Identify and assess strategic business opportunities and partnerships through ongoing research of consumer behavior, industry trends and emerging technology.
  • Identify potential partnership opportunities to drive customer and sales growth in Europe; for example: marketing partnerships across payment, financial services, affiliates, influencers and other platforms.
  • Management of partner relationships on a day-to-day basis.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • The ideal candidate should demonstrate a genuine passion for digital marketing with proven ability in driving retail growth for a pure play business.
  • A font of knowledge, this person will be up to date with industry and channel trends, experiment with new strategies, and continuously optimize campaigns to achieve the best possible outcomes.
  • You will have experience of working across the UK and at least 1-2 other European markets in a growth marketing/paid media role. 
  • Relationship building skills will be key to ensure strong collaboration with cross functional team members (global channel leads at HQ in the US) internally as well as externally with execution teams.
  • This person will have successfully shown growth results in an online retailer covering multiple markets. You understand how to plan and execute paid media strategies to drive profitable retail revenue and new customer outcomes and have experience managing a £5m plus annual marketing budget.
  • Hands-on execution experience is essential.
