Job Description
We’re looking for a Mid Level Front End Developer. In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing and enhancing the user experience on our websites and apps including the tools that give our customers access to JourneyAI, the world’s first dynamic packaging technology for flight-free holidays. You will work with a team of talented developers, create superb code and features and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver a seamless and engaging user experience. Your work will help bring flight-free holidays to life, empowering travellers to enjoy sustainable, memorable journeys.
Your key responsibilities
- Develop our technology for flight-free holidays: work directly in our code, on user interfaces, API integrations and tests and coordinate with our backend team on key features
- Participate in the product development process: from help scope stories and projects, testing features prior to release onto measure success and iterate based on user feedback
- Develop user-centric features: implement user interfaces and features, focusing on usability, performance, and scalability
- Enhance the user experience: collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to create and enhance dynamic, journey-based features on our websites and applications
- Maintain technical excellence: maintain best practices for front-end development, including code quality, testing, tech debt and deployment processes, , API/library selection and system documentation
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with stakeholders across the company to align front-end development with business objectives and user needs and support and educate non-technical team members
- Optimise Performance: Improve the performance and accessibility of our sites and applications, ensuring a smooth experience for all users
Qualifications
What we’re looking for
- Extensive experience with JavaScript frameworks, particularly React.js and Next.js, and a deep understanding of HTML, CSS
- Experience writing Jest and Playwright tests
- Great front end skills including mobile-first development with an ability to convert designed visuals into high performance, responsive components
- Experience calling JSON/REST APIs and working with authentication/authorisation systems
- Excellent problem solving skills with great attention to detail and a methodical approach
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- A strong portfolio demonstrating your ability to design and build high-quality, user-centric web interfaces
- A passion for sustainable travel and a strong alignment with our mission
What would be great (but isn’t required)
- Experience with travel and hospitality systems
- Experience of DevOps and running agile processes (scrum/kanban) and retrospectives
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices
- Knowledge of mobile app development

- £48,000 - £65,000 p.a. depending on experience
