Mixed-Signal ASIC Design Engineer
Job Description
Keysight Technologies seeks a Mixed-Signal ASIC Design Engineer to join its Keysight Labs team in Santa Clara, CA. You will join the Keysight team that develops state of the art mixed-signal integrated circuit solutions, enabling performance breakthroughs that differentiate our electronic test and measurement products. We develop custom ASIC data converter solutions in GHz applications, implementing core ADC and DAC structures, as well as streaming I/O data paths, in CMOS and BiCMOS technologies. Become a part of our team, and you will learn the art of making the world's highest bandwidth mixed-signal measurement ICs.
The successful person in this job will have:
- A strong working knowledge of gigahertz clock, DAC, and ADC circuits.
- An understanding of the underlying devices and their parasitics, enabling creative design to push circuit limits.
- Knowledge of efficient and accurate techniques for design, simulation, and layout of integrated circuits.
- Ability to design and model mixed-signal circuits and systems.
- Experience in a design team, including the ability to communicate well.
Ideally this role will be based in Santa Clara, CA, where majority of team is located. We will also consider remote work from Santa Rosa, CA or Colorado Springs, CO locations, where we have extended team members.
Job Qualifications
Education: Ph. D. in Electrical Engineering or closely related field, with thesis work on mixed-signal IC design preferred, an M.S. in Electrical Engineering with substantial experience in IC design required, or a B.S. in Electrical Engineering with exceptionally strong course work or research in IC design.
Experience:
- Experience on projects designing high speed circuits in CMOS or BiCMOS technologies
- Experience must include both transistor level design and physical design
- Experience with mixed signal building blocks and integrated systems, such as PLLs, DACs, Serializers, ADCs, or wideband amplifiers
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment, and ability to document and present results
A strong candidate will also have:
- More than 2 years experience in mixed signal circuit design, including experience through a complete design and fabrication cycle.
- A strong working knowledge of gigahertz clock, DAC, and ADC circuits
- Experience with device modelling, thermal design, and IC package design
- An understanding of the underlying devices and their parasitics, enabling creative design to push circuit limits
- Understanding of signal integrity and EM issues
- Experience with at least the 65 nm process node. Prefer 28 nm or newer.
- Experience with mixed-mode simulation of analog and digital blocks, including behavioral modeling of analog circuits, using tools like Verilog or VerilogA for simulation
- Have familiarity with programming and scripting languages to enable automation in the design, simulation, and testing of ICs
- Experience with synthesized digital design flows, using RTL descriptions to deliver verified netlists for physical synthesis
- Experience in a design team, including the ability to communicate well
Ideally this role will be based in Santa Clara, CA, where majority of team is located. But we will consider Santa Rosa, CA or other potential Keysight locations, where we have other team members.
Based on EAR (Export Administration Regulations), compliance on Technology Transfer, we are unable to sponsor for work Visa for this role
