Who are we?

UpGuard’s mission is to protect the world’s data. We obsessively seek out elegant, rigorous ways to enable our customers to reduce cyber risk. Our software helps customers automate their laborious, spreadsheet-driven security processes. Whether it's monitoring the attack surface of hundreds of suppliers, or assessing the security of their own organization, UpGuard is used by some of the world’s largest, fastest-growing, and most innovative companies.

Why we’re hiring this role?

We are hiring a full-time Motion Designer to join our creative team. You'll work closely with our Videographer and Creative Lead to elevate our video content such as our quarterly Summit events, YouTube videos, product demos, and increasing our presence on LinkedIn.

What will you accomplish?

  • Develop visually striking motion graphics for various digital platforms, including social media, websites, and marketing campaigns.
  • Play a pivotal role in crafting visual narratives that resonate with our audience, contributing directly to the unique personality and essence of our brand.
  • Work directly with our Videographer and internal stakeholders to work through all phases of production from ideation to completion to achieve highly creative, out-of-the-box concepts.
  • Assist with telling stories and visualize data and concepts relating to cyber security through the use of images, graphics, and typography using industry tools such as After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and Figma

What do we need from you?

  • 3+ years of proven experience as a Motion Designer with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of motion design projects.
  • Proficient knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop).
  • Solid editing skills, with a deep understanding of how editing and sound design, play a crucial role in creating impactful motion design pieces.
  • Passionate about pushing the boundaries of motion design and creating visually compelling experiences
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and adhere to brand guidelines
  • Familiar with optimal file output formats and best practices to tailor graphics for mediums including but not limited to social media platforms, web graphics, and other digital channels.
  • Ability to understand complex subjects and transform them into simple, easy-to-understand graphics.
  • An interest in technology, and playing a pivotal role in telling the story of a global company that's growing quickly worldwide
  • A passion for creative ideas, improvement, and problem-solving in collaboration with the marketing team
  • Experience managing multiple projects concurrently, and setting clear expectations with stakeholders

What will give you an edge?

  • 3D modeling and animation experience in programs such as Blender and C4D Lite
  • You have experience in other aspects of video production (filming, lighting, sound, editing, etc) and feel comfortable working with other creative professionals
  • Experience creating foundational graphics that serve as the building blocks for compelling motion designs

What’s in it for you?

  • Hybrid or Remote: you choose. While we have offices in Sydney & Hobart, we don’t mandate how often you need to be there. We focus on what you deliver, not where you deliver it from.
  • Impact: Influence the direction and design of projects that push the boundaries of your field and see the impact of your work daily.
  • Be part of an energetic team: Our team is highly collaborative, fostering a positive work environment that encourages creativity and innovation.
  • We value work-life balance: We recognize the importance of maintaining balance and provide a supportive work environment that allows you to prioritize your personal life and well-being.
  • Generous reward: We offer a competitive salary + equity
  • Great perks: You won’t find table tennis tables or office mandates - we prefer to offer perks that support your overall well-being - including a lifestyle allowance, well-being program, WFH budget, personal learning & development budget, generous leave benefits, and plenty more!
