MySQL and PostgreSQL Database Administrator IV
Job Description:
Shift : OK to work in roational shift ( including night)
Experince : 10+ yrs of relvant exp.
The MySQL Database Administrator is responsible for configuring, administering, and maintaining the MySQL database environments. Responsibilities include database upgrades, patching, security, troubleshooting and issue resolution, backup procedures, and performance tuning. In addition, application DBA’s will provide support and direction to developers and other support personnel as needed. Daily responsibilities include monitoring production environment, providing acceptable system performance, and assuring data is protected and recoverable as required.
Key Responsibilities
• Installation, configuration, tunning, patching and upgrading database environment using different utilities.
• Migrating MySQL databases and setting up high availability solutions and migrating On-prem MySQL and MariaDB to cloud [AWS, Azure, GCP] environments.
• Proven experience managing database configurations
• Automate database recurring tasks using Ansible playbooks.
• Managing database Users, Permissions and Security.
• Perform regular maintenance activities.
• Monitoring Space management, user's activities, and resource utilization. •Ability to independently maintain and administrator databases.
• Ability to learn and adapt procedures, processes, and new technologies quickly.
• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
Knowledge
• Expert understanding of MySQL database concepts and structures.
• SQL and MySQL skills and Unix operating system understanding is required. •Expert Knowledge of MySQL architecture and configurations.
• Good experience of patching, cloning, security, backup and recovery procedures, replication setup and DR-Drill activities.
• Expert understanding of Performance Tuning, Query Optimization using query plans, Client/Server Connectivity.
•Good experience of implementing operational automation.
• Good experience of writing shell scripts as well as knowledge in general systems administration tasks.
• Good experience of setting up MySQL high availability using various tools. •Good experience of database administration, design, development, maintenance, and production support.
• Good experience of MySQL, MariaDB, Percona MySQL, Amazon Aurora RDS, Google and Azure.
• Good experience of InnoDB internals.
• Consistency Checks using different Utilities.
• Good experience on planning and Performing Backup and Recovery activities using Export/Import utilities.
• Proficient in performing the recovery of the MySQL database files in various recovery scenarios.
• Good experience on Master-Slave and Master-Master replication configuration.
• Good experience on AWS (RDS, Aurora Cluster, EC2, S3 Bucket, DMS) and Azure, GCP.
