Network Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES
Peraton is looking to add a Network Engineer. This qualified candidate will be responsible for network operations, administration, and engineering tasks.
What you will do:
- They will participate in the ongoing support for on-premises network systems using current and emerging technologies along with supporting and migrating AWS environments.
- Maintains overall network health and carries out network tasks based on business objectives.
- Responsible for administration, documentation, and security of network equipment. Works well with others in a team environment.
- Installs, configures, services, repairs, and maintains hardware and software for network.
- Implements required hardware upgrades and repairs inoperative devices to maintain mission capability.
- The individual will be knowledgeable in the installation, configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting of AWS cloud environments along with routing/switching, firewalls, and load balancers.
- The individual should be knowledgeable in overall networking and security standards along with design, implementation, and administration.
- This individual will coordinate installations with vendors to assure a smooth transition on worked projects.
- Plan and execute Network/Security changes and ensure performance and security are maintained.
- Completes all required installation documentation and will be knowledgeable in network cable installation techniques and labeling schemes.
- Dynamic and fast-paced work environment, requiring effective interactions and communications.
- Work with vendors to resolve issues and platform upgrades.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 5 year of experience supporting enterprise network environment.
- LAN/CLAN/MAN/WAN/Cloud, with experience in implementing network infrastructure solutions in Windows and Linux/Unix environments; and networking with blade solutions and architectures.
- The candidate should have working knowledge in the design, configuration, and deployment of AWS cloud, in a multi-site network environment. AWS skills should include, but not limited to, SysOPS, NACLs, security groups, codecommit, codepipeline, cloudformation, cloudwatch, and cloudtrail.
- Working knowledge of network perimeter devices, Cisco routers, Cisco switches, Check Point and Palo Alto firewalls, F5 load balancers
- Knowledge of Layer 2 and 3 configured network equipment.
- Knowledge of routing and switching protocols to include, but not limited to, TCP/IP, IPSec, LLDP, LADP, LACP, STP
- Monitor and maintain environment which includes routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls, remote VPN, proxies, NTP.
- Administers network management tools to include configuration, implementation, monitoring, maintenance and management of system baselines.
- Solid knowledge of routing protocols, network hardware and software, security technologies and network infrastructure.
- Interpersonal and relationship skills necessary to work with an integrated team of project managers, developers, quality and other company engineers.
- Demonstrate initiative and strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with IT staff and all levels of the organization.
- Ability to adjust schedule to meet business needs and participate in on-call rotations.
- Must be US Citizen
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required agency clearance.

- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
- AWS Certified Advanced Networking, Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA),
- F5 Certified BIG-IP Administrator (F5-CA)
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA)

Target Salary Range
$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
