Posted Oct 14

Description

MyTutor is the UK’s leading online platform for one-to-one learning, and we're on a mission to improve education for everyone in the UK and beyond, (we’re expanding internationally). We’re building a future where access to high quality learning is stress-free for those who can afford it, and funded for those who can't.

Our handpicked community of tutors work online with students from all walks of life, and have already given over half a million lessons. We’re proud of the fact that over 1,300 schools have also chosen to work with us, and that we’ve earned a Trustpilot rating of 4.8/5. (You can also check out our tutors’ ratings here.)

Our team of nearly 300 is distributed across the UK, meaning we encourage a hybrid culture that supports collaboration and flexibility. We are a learning organisation and hope to work with more people who are passionate about doing great work and improving every day.

We always prioritise our team wellbeing and development. Everyone has the option to use our hotdesking app, Desana, to book a table and room at our coworking office near Spitalfields, London.

Every role at MyTutor is open to applications from all sections of society. We see potential in every individual regardless of: race, ethnic origin or nationality; religion or belief; physical or neuro-ability; socio-economics or age; marital, domestic or civil partnership status; sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other characteristic that makes you… well, you.

We are committed to conscious inclusion to create a sense of belonging, connection and shared purpose within our teams. We know it’s the right thing to do, and we know it will make us all happier, fulfilled, and successful in our work. You can also find a copy of our current Gender Pay Gap report here and we are continuing to build our roadmap of creating a more diverse and inclusive workforce.

What’s it all about?

MyTutor’s consumer business is set to go through a period of growth over the next 12 months and we’re looking for an operations lead to join our tutor supply team to support and accelerate that growth by scaling our B2C supply base and driving key marketplace efficiencies. The tutor supply team focuses on scaling and supporting our tutor base - growing our student acquisition at universities across the UK, streamlining our tutor onboarding, driving our tutorbase’s behaviours and supporting them to find and keep rewarding work while improving outcomes for their students.

As Operations Lead focusing on our B2C marketplace, you’ll be responsible for ensuring our consumer business has the right number of tutors where we need them (it could be subjects, KS levels, price points etc.) - driving operational efficiencies to help us scale as you go. And you’ll incentivise our B2C tutors to improve their behaviours to increase their earnings while driving revenue growth for our consumer business.

The Day to Day

  • Own the performance of our growing consumer supply base - driving results across marketplace efficiency, tutor satisfaction and customer retention.
  • Work with the Head of Tutor Supply to set our supply-side growth strategy and play a key role in delivering it.
  • Partner with cross-functional leads in product, date and customer operations on key marketplace projects.
  • Launch and experiment with tutor-facing campaigns and incentives to better understand and drive our tutors’ behaviours. One month you might test how we might improve the quality of tutor profiles; another month you might test how tutors can convert parent leads into paying customers better.
  • Build and foster tight feedback loops with our tutor base and act as a subject matter expert with the experience of our B2C tutors.
  • Combine marketplace data with tutor and customer insights to identify opportunities and spot risks, developing business cases and running experiments to tackle these.

Requirements

  • You have strong data analysis skills (g-sheets is a must and SQL a bonus), you can find and clearly communicate strategic insights from large and complex data sets
  • You can build strong customer empathy and are curious about the users behind our marketplace and what makes them tick
  • You’re an excellent communicator, whether you’re presenting ideas to internal stakeholders or talking to our customers. And you’re comfortable coordinating decisions with stakeholders that might have opposing views
  • You’re adaptable and able to execute quickly, you can comfortably and prioritise effectively across multiple projects, balancing short-term operational needs with longer-term strategic initiatives
  • You’re curious to learn about all aspects of the business, and able to build up skills and knowledge quickly
