Description
The Paralegal 2 performs a variety of law-related tasks such as legal research, drafting legal documents and other related duties. The Paralegal 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.
Responsibilities
The Paralegal 2 perform legal and records research. Identifies relevant judicial decisions, statutes, legal articles, codes and other pertinent material. Drafts legal documents including briefs, pleadings, appeals, agreements, contracts and legal memoranda. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Meet with attorneys, business partners, and other professionals to discuss assigned projects
- Drafts legal documents including letters, memos, and agreements
- Researches and analyzes statutes, regulations, legal articles, etc. and provide written analysis to attorneys
- Communicate with business partners and others in the law, compliance, and risk departments
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, and other related matters
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to function well in a high-paced enviornment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Associate degree in Paralegal Studies or related field required
- At least 3 years’ experience working as a paralegal required
Preferred Qualifications
- Corporate law or compliance department or law firm paralegal experience preferably with experience in healthcare law or compliance
- With supervision from an attorney, conducted legal research and analysis, and drafted, reviewed and analyzed a broad range of letters and agreements

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay decisions will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$63,400 $87,400 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
