About the role
We are looking for an ambitious and proactive Paralegal to become a member of the Group Legal Team. The role will report to a Senior Legal Counsel, who is based in the UK and will be required to support a broad range of matters across the various sub-functions within the Team, being Legal, Data Privacy and Company Secretariat. This is a great role for someone with previous paralegal experience, either within private practice or an in-house environment and who is commercially minded with an ability to find solutions to problems. This role will include working autonomously as well as part of a collegiate and supportive international and local cross-functional team.
As a member of the Zepz Group Legal Function, you will aim high, embrace challenges and always do what’s right; acting with integrity and building trust as you contribute to the company’s strategic direction and terms of decision making.
Reporting to a Senior Legal Counsel, Legal, you will:
● Be the primary point of contact or escalation for NDA requests;
● Support on company secretarial activities e.g. support the setting up and running of various board and committee meetings; own delivery of aspects of the co sec calendar and forward planner including preparing filings for relevant authorities and preparing materials for auditors and regulators;
● Support on data protection compliance work e.g. subject access requests;
● Provide first reviews of commercial contracts and support on negotiations e.g SaaS agreements, master services agreements, order forms and marketing agreements;
● Support on legal operation projects including; automation of processes, updates and changes to existing technology platforms, policy writing and implementation;
● Legal research;
● Assist with brand protection work; and
● Perform ad-hoc tasks to support the overall legal function.
What we’re looking for from you
● Recent experience working with businesses in the Payments / Financial Services sector is desirable but not essential.
● Previous legal experience obtained through study or previous work experience is desirable.
● Strong attention to detail.
● Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise different workstreams in line with the needs of the Legal Team and wider business.
● Strong interpersonal and communication skills: ability to build and maintain good working relationships both internally and externally at all levels.
● Ability to work independently, but also a team player: fostering knowledge sharing and collaboration across different teams and departments.
● Experience in developing and implementing workflows and process flows on technology platforms is desirable.
