Paralegal - Litigation

Position Purpose:
As part of a small paralegal team, this role will support 7 attorneys on the litigation team by managing pre-litigation and litigation tasks on employment matters, health plan litigation, and regulatory matters.
In this Paralegal - Litigation role, you will:
- Gather relevant information and documents from a variety of sources to assist with internal investigations, discovery, and third-party document requests;
- Prepare legal holds;
- Manage and respond to employment subpoenas;
- Assist litigation counsel with internal fact development and document reviews;
- Conduct research and other tasks necessary to support internal clients, in-house counsel, and outside counsel;
- Proofread pleadings, correspondence and other written materials for accuracy;
- Maintain databases needed to support pre-litigation and litigation matters; and
- Perform administrative and other tasks and special projects as assigned.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's Associate Degree in Paralegal studies, related legal field or equivalent experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3+ years of law firm or in-house legal experience.
- Direct experience in litigation management and experience interacting with third parties preferred.
Preferred Experience:
- Proven working experience as a Litigation Paralegal in employment law and/or a health care company
- Applicable knowledge of subpoenas, discovery, and litigation documentation and rules
- Highly organized with ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong writing and communication skills, with attention to detail
Location:
- Applicants for this job have the flexibility to work remote from home anywhere in the Continental United States. However, St. Louis, MO, is preferred as in-office support may be occasionally required. Due to the needs of the business, ideal schedule is 8 am - 5 pm CST*
Pay Range: $25.97 - $46.68 per hourCentene offers a comprehensive benefits package including: competitive pay, health insurance, 401K and stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off plus holidays, and a flexible approach to work with remote, hybrid, field or office work schedules. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives.
