We are now looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our finance team and play a pivotal role in supporting our global financial operations. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for our global workforce. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with experience running international payroll, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to adhere to strict deadlines. The ideal candidate will collaborate with regional payroll teams and other departments to gather, verify, and process payroll data efficiently.

This is a remote position, but the candidate must be able to work in European time zones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, verify, and process payroll information for employees (both direct and EoR) as well as contractor invoices and payments across multiple countries.
  • Ensure payroll data is accurately recorded.
  • Coordinate with outsourced payroll service providers in Canada, Finland, UK, US and Spain and assist with the development of the payroll processes within the group.
  • Collaborate with functional leaders for accurate processing of commission and bonus payments.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate payroll records and employee data.
  • Handle confidential information with utmost integrity and discretion.
  • Liaise with internal HR, Operations and Finance teams.
  • Address and resolve payroll-related inquiries and discrepancies.
  • Provide support and guidance to employees regarding payroll matters and liaise with outsourced payroll partners when necessary.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes and improve efficiency.
  • Participate in payroll system upgrades and implementation projects.
  • Conduct regular reviews of payroll procedures to ensure best practices.

Job requirements

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in payroll processing, preferably in an international context.
  • Practical experience in accounting, payroll and employment law in one or more of the applicable regions.
  • Experience of working with a high volume, multicurrency, multi-country environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Capacity to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
