As we look to grow our Accounting Team, we are looking for a Payroll Specialist with a good sense of humor, a rock-solid work ethic, and mind-blowing attention to detail. We’re building a truly exceptional team of accounting professionals who take their jobs, but not themselves, very seriously. 

This foundational role will play an important role in the Accounting organization around change management, improving processes, and scaling our payroll operations. You will oversee our payroll operations, including payroll processing/review, journal entries, performing quality review checks & analysis, and assisting with internal reporting. You’ll be Notable’s first dedicated payroll hire at Notable and will have the opportunity to work directly with the Controller and Head of Finance. You will...

  • own your workflows. We believe in hiring great people and removing any obstacles that get in their way;
  • ensure the timely and accurate recording of all payroll transactions by verifying wages, withholdings, and deductions associated with net pay;
  • analyze monthly and quarterly fluctuations by the employee and investigate discrepancies;
  • prepare, calculate, and analyze the monthly payouts in accordance to Notable’s compensation plans;
  • ensure payroll reporting is in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations;
  • prepare and review the payroll journal entries associated with each payroll run;
  • distribute and track completeness of compensation plan sign-off to ensure compliance with company policies;
  • act as the point of contact and strategic partner for all payroll-related inquiries and questions while maintaining stellar customer service;
  • assist in establishing, implementing, documenting, maintaining, and monitoring internal control procedures and accounting policies; 
  • standardize and document recurring operating procedures with an eye for automation while maintaining a high degree of accuracy;
  • you’ll be given full autonomy to build out accounting processes and tackle ambitious projects that shape the future of the business.

You’re a great fit for our team because...

  • you possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance;
  • you have 4+ years of payroll operations experience within high-growth organizations;
  • you have knowledge of labor law/legislation and a full understanding of payroll best practices;
