The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll/GL Accountant to join our dynamic team at Arine. This newly created role will report to the Senior Accounting Manager and plays a critical role in payroll processing, payroll accounting, AP, and general ledger accounting activities. You will also contribute to meeting the company's financial reporting deadlines by preparing key supporting schedules for internal and investor financial reporting. 

What You’ll Be Doing:

Payroll:

  • Process semi-monthly multi-state US payroll for hourly and salary employees 
  • Prepare payroll accounting journal entries and record in the general ledger system (NetSuite)
  • Review and audit employee voluntary deductions including medical benefits, FSA, and 401k contributions
  • Work with Human Resources to resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Ensure compliance with multiple federal, state, and local payroll, wage and hour laws and best practices
  • Reconcile payroll, tax filing and benefits, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions
  • Audit, preview, and post payroll reports for accuracy
  • Assist with year-end payroll processing duties to ensure accurate and timely filing of W2's and 1099s

Accounting:

  • Process monthly invoices to customers
  • Process accounts payable (Tipalti), credit card transactions (Ramp), and expense reports (Expensify)
  • Assist with the recording, maintenance and accounting of the company’s fixed assets and prepaid expense schedules
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements, including journal entries, balance-sheet account reconciliations, including bank accounts and accruals
  • Assist in supporting annual U.S. GAAP audits from third-party auditors
  • Ad hoc reporting

Our Ideal Candidate Possesses:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Payroll and Accounting, preferably in the healthcare technology or SaaS industry
  • Experience with ADP and NetSuite strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local wage and tax laws
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

Travel and Other Information:

  • For candidates local to the San Francisco Bay Area, the ability to commute to our office on Market Street in San Francisco at least 2-3 days/week

The posted range represents the expected salary for this position and does not include any other potential components of the compensation package, benefits, and perks. Ultimately, the final pay decision will consider factors such as your experience, job level, location, and other relevant job-related criteria. The salary range for this position is: $80,000-90,000/year.

Information Security Roles and Responsibilities:

All staff at Arine are expected to be part of its Information Security Management Program and undergo periodic training on Information Security Awareness and HIPAA guidelines. Each user is responsible to maintain a secure working environment and follow all policies and procedures.
