Position Summary:

The P&E Operations Manager is pivotal in the effective functioning and operational development of the Product and Engineering (P&E) departments. The primary responsibilities encompass various activities, including financial management, strategic planning, resource allocation, and business analytics. This position requires a keen understanding of both operational disciplines and the overarching business goals to ensure seamless coordination and achievement of departmental objectives.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Budget and Resource Management
  2. Oversee and manage the budget for the Product and Engineering (P&E) departments.
  3. Execute the budget lifecycle for P&E, including forecasting, worksheet, and data capture, run rates, ancillary costs.
  4. Track and reconcile financial data.
  5. Interpret variance reports from finance and translate them into actionable insights.
  6. Serve as a liaison with the Finance department and department heads in P&E.
  7. Create a process for tracking all pertinent existing employee and headcount details, automating the existing roster.
  8. Collaborate with Finance and Operations to confirm existing headcount details monthly.
  9. Strategic Support and Documentation
  10. Lead and executed strategic initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, streamline processes, and drive continuous improvement within P&E.
  11. Coordinate the documentation of the strategic direction for the P&E departments.
  12. Ensure outputs are suitable for presentations (e.g., Quarterly business reviews/Board meetings).
  13. Support planning and execution of P&E Leaderships quarterly off-sites.
  14. Business Analytics
  15. Conduct business analytics to derive insights and support decision-making processes.
  16. Develop and maintain metrics and reporting processes for departmental performance including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Generate regular reports for the Product and Engineering Leadership Team.

Ideal Skills, Experience, and Competencies:

  • At least five (5) years of experience in operations or project management.
  • Proven track record in operations management, preferably within the Product and Engineering domains.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Exceptional financial acumen and familiarity with budgeting processes.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to be a team player who is accountable for initiatives and results.
  • Ability to self-start and execute and implement change.
  • Ability to critically think and be strategic and highly analytical.
  • Ability to motivate others to action by planning, motivating, organizing, and driving work.
  • Ability to be professional with unquestionable integrity, credibility, and character, and demonstrate high moral and ethical behavior.

Required Education & Certifications:

  • B.A./B.S. in Business, Finance, or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred

Compensation:

  • Qualified candidates can expect a salary beginning at $86,000 or more depending on experience

*Note: Compensation is benchmarked on local Denver Metro area market rates. Qualified candidates in other locations can expect a salary package that may be adjusted based off applicable cost of wages in their respective location.
