As Smartcar’s People Business Partner, you will be a key component to protecting and scaling Smartcar’s culture and HR processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and find ways to improve Smartcar’s onboarding and offboarding experience.
- Support all of Smartcar’s departments globally on HR best practices.
- Lead Smartcar’s bi-annual performance review process by training team members and launching the review packets.
- Assist with compensation planning and benefit enrollment efforts.
- Collaborate with all departments to support and organize team specific and company wide events.
- Lead employee morale and engagement initiatives such as celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, surveys, learning and development initiatives and more.
- Build and create new HR policies and documentation.
- Own and manage sensitive data and information within Smartcar’s HR tech stack such as Rippling, Lattice and Carta.
- Gather and analyze people metrics to drive key insights and decisions around morale, growth and retention.
- Manage inbound employee inquiries about benefits, leaves, policies etc.
- Identify ways to automate and simplify HR processes.
- Be a trusted advisor and partner to all employees.
- Assist with ad hoc HR operations projects.
Who You Are
- 4+ years of HR generalist experience.
- Proven experience with leading onboarding, offboarding and performance review efforts.
- Familiar with HR tools such as Rippling, Workday, Gusto etc.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to use independent judgment to make decisions as well as organize and prioritize work.
- Data-driven and comfortable building cost estimate reports.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

Compensation and Benefits Package
- Base salary determined by years of experience: $90,000 - $120,000.
- Equity.
- Remote work within the United States.

Interview Steps
- Intro Call: 30 minute phone call with Jackie Leary to learn about your background and determine whether your skill set matches the role.
- Hiring Manager Call: 45 min phone call with Mathilde Patmon to learn more about your background and for you to ask as many questions as you would like about the role.
- Take-Home Assignment: You will have 3 days to prepare findings and an action plan for fictitious engagement survey results.
- Take-Home Assignment Review: Once your challenge is complete you will have a 45 min video call with Mathilde Patmon and Sanketh Katta to present your analysis and action plan.
- Final Stage: This is a 3-part video interview where you will have a 30 minute call to meet 2 members of the recruiting team, a 30 minute behavioral interview with Jim Terheyden and a 30 min project overview with Steven Stone and Mathilde Patmon.
