We are looking for an ambitious and passionate Performance Marketer to join the Marketing team. This individual will play a key role in managing performance marketing practice at Wattpad through planning and executing marketing campaigns, contributing to our knowledge base of effective tactics through testing & experimentation, and helping to build the systems and processes that will allow this team to thrive. You will have the opportunity to work cross functionally across Brand, IP, Product, Engineering & Data, and Creative, to ensure that performance marketing is able reach its objectives. You will also have the opportunity to derive both quantitative and qualitative insights from Wattpad’s existing base of 85M monthly visitors to help inform our current and future channel strategy, including our approach to existing channels and new channel expansion. 

You have experience running web and app based campaigns, and are capable of creating paid media strategies from scratch. You are proficient at managing campaigns across both search and social channels; and have a strong understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the channels within. You understand that performance marketing is part art and part science, and while you have the skills to use the data that is available to you, you also have the knowledge and experience to make decisions in scenarios where data is limited. Finally, you are a creative problem solver; you thrive off of being able to find novel solutions or workarounds to problems where the answer is not immediately clear. 

What you'll be doing:

  • Develop comprehensive, multi-channel paid media strategies to drive brand awareness, user acquisition, and/or revenue based on company objectives 
  • Launch, optimize, and report on brand awareness campaigns to ensure they’re contributing to our brand lift KPIs
  • Provide performance marketing expertise to a variety of marketing initiatives, including but not limited to Brand Marketing, Creator Marketing, and B2B marketing, and IP marketing
  • Work with Wattpad Books team to execute e-commerce campaigns that help drive sales for popular titles 
  • Own our paid media reporting that is shared with the organization, ensuring that internal stakeholders stay well informed of updates to performance and strategy.
  • Maintain ongoing documentation of new learnings, best practices and processes in order to build our knowledge base while sharing these regularly with the organization.
  • Design, own, and execute experiments in collaboration with creative and product teams in order to grow our knowledge base and unlock new winning strategies.
  • Partner with Engineering and Data to help build the infrastructure required to make data easily accessible and actionable by the team.
  • Be the day-to-day contact and point person for key relationships with ad channel representatives.

What we're looking for:

  • 3+ years of experience working in performance marketing
  • Deep experience with paid social (Meta, TikTok, Snap, Pinterest, & LinkedIn) and paid search (Google) campaigns
  • Strong written and oral communication skills - you are able to articulate your ideas in a thoughtful and concise manner and are mindful of your audience. 
  • A team player that is passionate about working with others. You enjoy working cross collaboratively and others enjoy working with you.
  • A strategic thinker that is able to tie marketing objectives back to individual channel strategies. 
  • Strong analytical skills - you are comfortable working with large quantities of data and are adept at pulling key insights out of it.
  • Strong understanding of creative and messaging strategy both at the channel and overall marketing level. You know how messaging is articulated at the brand, acquisition, and activation levels of the funnel. 
  • Strong project and initiative management expertise. You set clear roles, expectations and timelines, and ensure that all stakeholders are kept up to date on project progress.

Wattpad is conducting all interviews in a distributed manner using applicable third party software where needed and using visual interface tools such as Google Hangouts and Zoom.
