Platform Engineer - (M/F/X) - Remote in DE/ Hybrid/Saarbrücken - SaaS/Cloud/AI

Tasks

You’ll join a newly formed crack unit of hardened technologists working on cloud products. The team will be led by our Director of Engineering and consist of 8 to 10 Engineers and a small product team.

Your main tasks to begin with will include:

  • Taking an instrumental role in the successful launch of our new cloud product line
  • You’ll join early in the journey and take part in shaping everything from the product to the tech stack.
  • You’ll own all things Kubernetes and be deep into cloud infrastructure
  • You’ll ensure servers, databases and other backing services are scaled appropriately
  • You’ll work to maintain a high standard of security throughout
  • Automate everything possible including Infrastructure and try to automate what others may see as impossible
  • Manage and optimize our Kubernetes clusters and set standards around their usage
  • Help the team debugging production-issues
  • Be the internal guru on Kubernetes

Requirements

  • Multiple years of hands-on experience being responsible for production-grade Kubernetes clusters
  • Understanding of network architecture
  • In-depth understanding of Linux, including common command line tools for server/network debugging and automation
  • Solid understanding of the special challenges of distributed systems and how to debug them
  • Experience with monitoring solutions like Grafana or Azure Monitor
  • Automation mindset and experience
  • Solid understanding of security best practices and risks around cloud products
  • Experience with IaC, e.g. with Terraform, Pulumi or Crossplane
  • Experience in the following areas would be an additional plus: Azure, Helm, GitHub Actions, multi-tenant architecture, distributed tracing, Prometheus, API gateways & load balancers, GitOps
  • Fluent English and your German is at least good enough to communicate within the team
  • You’re based in Germany and happy to work remote, or hybrid from Saarbrücken
