The Role:
Halcyon’s goal is to deliver an anti-ransomware solution that breaks new ground as to what a security product can deliver. Aligned with this goal, Halcyon is looking for a Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer who will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud-based infrastructure. You will work closely with fellow cloud engineers as well as stakeholders including IT and Product Security to ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of our cloud environments. Your role will involve both strategic planning and hands-on execution, leveraging the latest technologies to drive efficiency and innovation. Our cloud applications provide our customers with visibility into the activity across their fleet of deployed endpoints and allow them to take action across the fleet.
Responsibilities:
- Cloud Infrastructure Management: Design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure on platforms with a particular focus on AWS.
- Automation and Orchestration: Develop and implement automation scripts and orchestration tools to streamline deployment, management, and monitoring processes.
- CI/CD Pipelines: Build and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to support rapid and reliable software delivery.
- Monitoring and Logging: Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure the health and performance of cloud infrastructure and applications.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure that cloud environments adhere to industry best practices for security and compliance, including identity and access management, data encryption, and vulnerability management.
- Collaboration: Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet business and technical needs.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Provide expert-level troubleshooting and support for cloud infrastructure and applications, resolving issues quickly and efficiently.
- Performance Optimization: Continuously evaluate and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud architecture, configurations, processes, and procedures.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: 6+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure management and DevOps, with a focus on AWS. This includes experience interfacing with a variety of databases and data stores, deploying infrastructure and applications in AWS as well as CI/CD pipeline ownership.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in cloud infrastructure services (compute, storage, networking, security), infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation), container runtimes and deployments (Kubernetes with Helm or similar tooling)and configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet). Additionally, experience with OpenSearch/ElasticSearch, Postgres, DynamoDB, and/or Kafka is a strong plus.
- Automation: Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell, and experience with CI/CD tools (ArgoCD, Jenkins, Github Actions, GitLab CI).
- Monitoring and Logging: Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, CloudWatch, Datadog).
- Security: In-depth understanding of cloud security best practices and tools, including IAM, security groups, encryption, and vulnerability management.
- Collaboration: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within and across teams with a focus on the ability to collaborate with other engineering teams on integration and architectural design.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and detail-oriented approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Polyglot: Experience in or ability to quickly pickup multiple programing languages including but not limited to Scala/Kotlin/Java, Rust, Python.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps Engineer, or Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer are a plus.

Base Salary Range: $170,000 - $200,000
Bonus Target: 10%
In accordance with applicable state and federal laws, the range provided is Halcyon’s reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. Base pay is one part of the total package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and equity in the Company.
