Principal Consultant
Our team is looking for a Principal Consultant who holds responsibility for the successful execution of implementation, adoption, and ongoing optimization of Unanet’s solutions. The Principal Consultant ensures that Unanet’s proven, and repeatable, implementation and cutover methodology is used to successfully deliver each customer engagement with high customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a blend of accounting process knowledge, technical solutions architecture skills, industry knowledge, communication skills, and mentorship of other consulting resources. They will be responsible for assisting customers in defining and prioritizing business requirements and engaging with executive and senior level business and technology decision maker discussions related to agility, business value, and end to end information technology and security. The Principal Consultant can define the right solution for customers and then implement that solution.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate in the pre-sale process with internal stakeholders by providing functional and technical guidance, translating business requirements, or identifying possible existing or new solution offers
- Lead meetings with customers to identify business needs and create vision
- Use business, industry, and technology strategies to map customer requirements to the adoption and optimization of Unanet technology solutions.
- Participate in project planning by collaborating with other subject matter experts in identifying the current and future business value of planned solutions
- Provide input on staffing and skill requirements for delivery to Resource Deployment, Consultants, Technical Consultants, and Project Management
- Manage complex escalations, analyze situations, and coordinate appropriate resources to resolve issues by following delivery practices, considering cost implications, and engaging in conversations with internal and external stakeholders
- Proactively manage executive-level customer/partner/stakeholder relationships to identify and contribute to the drivers of satisfaction and dissatisfaction, determine the root cause, and establish recovery actions to improve experience
- Define and drive Change Management models and activities to assist customers in managing change through their organization
- Drive opportunity to expand or accelerate the adoption and consumption of Unanet technologies
- Collaborate with peers and other teams to scale the business with existing high-stake or strategic customers, by articulating and developing value propositions of strategic Unanet products and services
- Provide input into product development opportunities based on industry knowledge and best practices
- Serve as a mentor and coach to consulting team members through training and other team development opportunities
Your First 90 Days
In your first 30 Days:
- Attend HR Employee Orientation and meet Unanet team
- Review all pre-recorded videos of Unanet features available on the HelpCenter and LMS (Learning Management System) – targeted focus on obtaining certifications in each functional practice areas (e.g., AP, AR, GL, Project Management etc.)
- Complete the first four weeks of the onboarding plan, inclusive of topic-based product, process, and practice training and hands on opportunities
- Begin work with your consultant mentor to shadow implementation calls and have Q&A sessions to review your questions
- Prepare for and participate in weekly 1:1 sessions with your manager
- Begin building internal relationships within your team and the broader Professional Services department
- Perform limited billable activities on customer implementations
- Shadow pre-sales calls and meetings to observe the sales cycle
In your first 60 Days:
- Continue to shadow implementations and continue to work through the defined 12-week onboarding plan
- Attend all available training sessions and webinars
- Define a plan with your Manager and Mentor for your first feature(s) to begin implementing
- Achieve all required LMS Certifications
- Perform additional limited billable activities on customer implementations
- Shadow additional pre-sales calls and meetings to observe the sales cycle and participate in business requirements
In your first 90 Days:
- Continue to shadow implementations and continue to work through the defined training plan
- Lead all or some portions of client implementations
- Achieve ~30% billable utilization target
Who You Are
- 10+ years of leadership experience in relevant area of business OR equivalent experience and bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years leading the implementation of multi-phase enterprise large scale ERP projects utilizing established delivery methodology
- Experience using government accounting software such as Unanet, Deltek, Microsoft Dynamics, or Quickbooks
- Exceptional communication, team building, and mentoring skills

The salary range for this opportunity is $120,000 - $135,000 per year. You will be eligible for discretionary bonus compensation, subject to plans that may be in effect from time to time.
