Position is Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm with the ability to work additional hours as project needs demand.

Incumbent can be located anywhere within the Arvest 4 State Footprint (AR, KS, MO, OK). Remote work options may be available outside of the 4-state footprint upon further review during the interview process.

Job Title: Principal DevOps Engineer

The Principal DevOps Engineer at Arvest will be a hands-on technology expert responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the cloud infrastructure and applications of our organization, with a focus on leveraging the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and GitLab. The Principal DevOps Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams, including development, operations, and security, to ensure the stability, scalability, and security of the cloud environment. This role requires expert level knowledge building custom DevOps solutions for modern cloud platforms.

What You’ll Do at Arvest: (Other duties may be assigned.)

• Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure and services on Google Cloud Platform and continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.

• Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

• Ensure the stability, scalability, and security of the cloud environment through proactive monitoring, incident response, and continuous improvement.

• Work closely with development teams to support the deployment and operation of applications in the cloud.

• Collaborate with operations teams to define and implement infrastructure and application monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes.

• Stay up to date on new cloud technologies and best practices, and continually improve skills through training and professional development.

• Demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to mentor, coach, and support team members of various levels of experience.

• Set team goals and prioritizes tasks to align with enterprise goals and objectives. Communicates these goals to team members. Measure progress and results of team performance.

  • Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.

Toolbox for Success:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Intelligence, or related field, or equivalent related work or military experience, is required.

• 8 years of experience as a Cloud Engineer or Infrastructure Lead

• Strong experience with and understanding of

  • Infrastructure-as-code platforms, such as Terraform, or similar technologies
  • Containerization platforms, such as Kubernetes, Docker, or similar technologies
  • CI/CD platforms, such as GitLab, Jenkins, or similar technologies

• Proficiency in at least one major cloud platform (Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure)

• Strong understanding of infrastructure and application security best practices required;

• Strong problem solving and analytical skills required;

• Strong communication and collaboration skills required;

• Experience and ability to lead and mentor a team of engineers

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Relevant military experience is considered for veterans and transitioning service members.
