About Limitless 👋

At Limitless, our vision is to free the human mind from its biological limits. Limitless is a web app, Mac app, Windows app, and a wearable that records what you've seen, said, or heard and makes it useful. For example, if you’re in back-to-back meetings you don’t have time to take notes, track action items, and draft follow ups - Limitless automatically does all of this for you.

The product we have today is just the first step toward our audacious vision. We have raised over $33m from top-tier investors including Sam Altman, First Round Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, and NEA to help make that vision a reality.

Why Limitless 👀

Working at Limitless will be the most impactful job of your life. Our team is small and everyone plays a huge role. The work you’ll do will have tremendous impact on not just our company, but how the world works. We believe the best version of the future is one in which we augment - not replace - human intelligence with artificial intelligence. This is the key to unlocking humanity’s full potential, and you will play a critical role in helping us get there. Come join us.

Why we need you ✨

  • There’s no product quite like Limitless. There’s no turnkey system or playbook for solving the types of challenges we face. You will be the second designer on the team, focused on helping us build amazing product experiences as we continue growing and refining our product on all platforms.
  • We're working on critical AI design challenges spanning privacy, data understanding, memory, and search. There's no simple set of requirements or constraints here, you'll use your experience over a long career working on design teams at the Senior Staff / Principal level to help you deeply understanding user problems, understand technical capabilities, and craft solutions.

What will be your responsibilities 📓

  • Build deep customer empathy by looking at customer feedback, talking directly with customers, understanding data we have and figuring out what data we need.
  • Own design challenges end-to-end to design thoughtful, simple solutions for intricate interactions and constraints. Your product experiences will delight and inspire.
  • Proactively contribute to the product roadmap and design vision with your understanding of the product, customers, and business opportunities.
  • Rapidly create production quality high-fidelity visual designs, complete with an excellent grasp of required interactions and motion.
  • Work closely with engineering (and/or jump in the code yourself) to ensure your intended designs ship as you envisioned.
  • Take on a variety of design tasks. You won't be working on just one product or platform. You'll be leading or pitching in on projects across website visual design, motion and implementation, desktop and web product design, as well as brand design.

What will help you be successful 👏

  • A strong desire to understand our customer needs, business goals and opportunities.
  • You have a portfolio of work or detailed examples showcasing your track record of working on best-in-class products.
  • Excellent visual, interaction, and UI skills. You have no problem designing websites and apps from scratch. You can take a rough idea and rapidly explore several directions in high-fidelity.
  • Excellent communication skills when it comes to sharing your work, and collaborating with teammates.
  • Strong experience collaborating closely with software engineers in a fast-paced environment on a consumer-facing interactive application. You know that designs aren’t finalized in Figma, they’re finalized in code and you devote enough time and attention to getting details right in the finished product.
  • A strong sense of balancing craft and speed by understanding customer needs and business goals to deliver a cohesive, considered high-quality product. You know when to go the extra mile, and when to ship something today and learn quickly from customers.
  • Deep understanding of systems design and platform conventions, but know when it makes sense to respect the system vs challenge it.
  • Experience building with modern web stacks like Next/React and Tailwind.

What cultural values you need to embody 💥

  • ✅ Decisive: Bias for action and learning.
  • 🧠 Resourceful: Prioritize well in order to maximize impact with the least effort.
  • 📈 Craft: Good judgement & consideration when deciding something is done enough.
  • ✋ Candor: Give candid feedback, receive it well, and speak up if you disagree.
  • 🗣️ Communication: Be transparent, create clarity out of ambiguity, and do it with zest.
  • 🙏 Collaboration: Help each other out, have empathy, and listen well.

$250,000 - $350,000 a year

The above compensation range includes salary + equity. The final package may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Based on eligibility, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k, paid parental leave, PTO, and other employee benefits.

Internally we aren't fixated on titles & levels since that can lead to needless hierarchy that distracts from the team's collective success. We recognize that not all companies operate that way. This role uses "Principal" to indicate we want people with substantial amounts of experience.

If you're interested in this job, we strongly encourage you to apply: we'd love to see you on our team working toward our audacious vision of freeing the mind from its biological limitations.
