Overview:

Our client is currently seeking an experienced Privacy Resource starting mid-July 2024. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience as a Privacy Analyst, or in equivalent roles, focusing on developing and delivering Privacy Impact Assessments and/or Privacy Assessments for technology solutions. Previous experience with Federal and Provincial privacy laws/requirements is required, i.e., Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act or similar in another jurisdiction. Additionally, previous experience analyzing projects (ie. Procedures/policies, access to information, privacy regulation) to identify and mitigate privacy risks is required. Location: Remote. Candidates must reside in Canada for the duration of the project. Term: One (1) year. Strong potential of extension.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze projects for privacy risks and write Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) reports to document and inform decisionmakers of strategies to mitigate the identified risks.
  • Review and advise on implementations as needed.
  • Conduct comprehensive Privacy Impact Assessments.
  • Revise PIAs prior to implementation.
  • Create addendums to PIAs after implementation.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience developing and delivering Privacy Impact Assessments and/or Privacy Assessments for technology solutions within the last five (5) years.
  • Experience with Federal and Provincial privacy laws and requirements, i.e., Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act or similar in another jurisdiction.
  • Experience developing and delivering Privacy Impact Assessments at a Provincial and/or Federal government level in projects.
  • Experience performing research and analysis used to inform recommendations to advance privacy protection.
  • Experience reviewing project initiatives to identify information access, privacy issues and opportunities (e.g., duplication of data, security, and privacy, enhance the quality and use of information within government).
  • Experience in criminal justice system, correctional settings, and applicable laws, inclusive to both adult and youth cases and custody.
  • Experience with information security policies, standards, methods, and best practices
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) in English is required.
  • Must be authorized to work in Canada.
  • Must reside in Canada for duration of project.
