Professional Big Data Software Engineer needed by AT&T Services, Inc. in Dallas, TX [and various locations throughout the U.S.; may work from home] to develop high performance distributed computing tasks using big data technologies including Hadoop, NoSQL, and text mining. Develop using JVM-based function languages including Scala and Clojure. Utilize Hadoop query languages including Pig, Hive, Scalding, Cascalog, and PyCascading. Use HDFS-based computing frameworks including Spark and STORM. Write code, complete programming, and perform testing and debugging applications. Analyze, design, program, debug, and modify software enhancements and new products used in distributed large scale analytics and visualization solutions. Collaborate with data scientists and industry experts to understand how data needs to be converted, loaded, and presented. Work in an Agile environment. Develop new concepts, methods, techniques. Independently identify key issues, patterns, and deviations from the norm. Analyze and interpret research to evaluate and recommend solutions. Recommend new procedures and processes to drive desired results. Mentor less experienced team members in work area by explaining advanced technical information and providing specialized technical guidance. Develop and manage location-based systems within AT&T including location creation, high-volume message management, and GUI development for external clients. Use Java, C, C++, and object oriented programming. Apply advance knowledge of Unix.

REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Bachelor s degree, or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and three (3) years of experience in the job offered, or three (3) years of experience developing high performance distributed computing tasks using big data technologies including Hadoop, NoSQL, and text mining; utilizing Hadoop query languages including Pig, Hive, Scalding, Cascalog, and PyCascading; using HDFS-based computing frameworks including Spark and STORM; writing code, completing programming, and performing testing and debugging applications; working in an Agile environment; using Java, C, C++, and object oriented programming; and applying advance knowledge of Unix.
