Your part in our mission:

We are very excited to hire a Product Design Lead to lead our product design team. In this role you will have strategic impact and influence on the direction of the Tinybeans user experience across all our platforms. You will own the design process from end-to-end for features and improvements of all sizes across our native mobile apps and responsive website. You will work closely with our collaborative team of product managers, designers and engineers (plus other cross functional teams including marketing and sales) to craft the best solutions for our users and advocate for our customers at every step of the process.

What you’ll work to achieve in this role:

  • Understand our customers goals and our business strategy in order to design intuitive and delightful solutions that exceed both the needs and expectations of both parties
  • Develop a deep understanding of users’, how they come to use our product and their problems with it. Engage with them through surveys, interviews, user testing and analytics to test and validate your designs.
  • Collaborate cross functionally with Product, Marketing, and Sales to design the right solutions for our users. Apply strategic thinking to your work and deliver innovative interface design, architecture and functionality that optimize customer needs across web & mobile platforms.
  • Together with your design team lead the development of Tinybeans UX design systems and work with engineers to ensure styles and components are aligned from design to code across all our platforms.
  • Lead the roll out of the new Tinybeans brand across all products and platforms.
  • Lead and mentor our UX designer, contribute to team culture and uphold quality standards across all Tinybeans UX design output.
  • Work independently to improve our product. Be able to identify problems and craft solutions.
  • Think critically about content, information architecture and collaborate with marketing to craft intuitive and on-brand product copy
  • Present and effectively communicate your ideas at company share-outs, engage and take the team through your journey. Encourage and acknowledge team feedback to ensure a better product.
  • Identify competitors and key market trends and translate them into potential business opportunities and solutions.

  • You are organized and on top of it all. You know the status of your project and what needs to go where to get it out the door. You make sure those that need to know, know. You are the glue that holds it together.
  • Your projects don’t start and end with design. You are a valuable partner to our engineering team, marrying design with technology, following projects through to completion and launch, ensuring your design vision makes it all the way to our users.
  • You’re technically savvy, you know your way around android and iOS apps, and have web design experience. You’ve worked closely with engineers before, have some technical knowledge and feel comfortable conversing with engineers.
  • You are a stickler for detail, your work is thorough, you’ve worked closely with QA, and not a product is launched without your eagle eye approving it.
  • You bring a healthy balance of process and flexibility, you can bring order to the chaos, but are comfortable in the grey, focusing and getting your team to goal.

Requirements

You should have:

  • 7+ years of experience designing and shipping products for native mobile and responsive web apps
  • A strong portfolio of end-to-end product design projects rolled out to users
  • 3+ years of leading and mentoring other UX / product designers.
  • Advanced degree in design or creative disciplines is a plus.
  • Expert knowledge in Figma
  • You have strong written and oral communications skills, and can clearly communicate to technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels

Salary Range for this position…

  • Minimum of $120,000to $150,000 top of the budget per annum.
  • Salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with position; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
  • Ranges vary depending on location and local/state/federal compliance requirements in the United States and Canada.
