Product Design - University Intern
GitHub is on a mission to accelerate human progress through developer collaboration. As an intern on the Product Design team, you will work on experimentation and solving challenging customer problems. You will work inside of the product, helping to create awareness around product features and encourage feature adoption. You will walk away with a holistic view of the entire customer journey and the ability to propose solutions for multiple customer profiles.
Collaboration is the key to GitHub’s success, and you will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop design solutions and collaborate on successful outcomes. Our team is composed of talented individuals who have backgrounds in product design, design systems, design ops, and illustration; as well as CSS experts, and engineers with front-end and full-stack experience working in Rails and React.js.
If you are a designer that enjoys design systems, dipping their hands into code, and thinking about brand expression, you might find a happy home on the GitHub product design team. From ideation to execution, you will research, sketch, create mocks, learn about design systems and accessibility, and use GitHub to build GitHub!
What you will get out of this internship:
This is your chance to bring your ideas to life and directly contribute to a culture of design excellence within your team. You will get experience working in an autonomous, remote-friendly environment where communication and collaboration are asynchronous and in writing.
The internship is designed not only for you to do great work with the opportunity to learn and grow, but also to experience our culture full of diverse community connection, executive engagement, and memorable events.
