Product Designer
The opportunity
ReMatter is a fast-growing start-up creating the modern operating system for the industrial scrap recycling industry ($120bn and growing!). Our customers represent the largest industrial recyclers around the world tasked with repurposing industrial and consumer scrap into new materials.
We are seeking an experienced product designer to help grow our business and better serve metal recyclers of all sizes. This role will be based on our Product team.
This is a remote role.

As a Product Designer, you will conduct:
- Design Strategy: Develop and communicate UX strategies that align with the company’s goals and user needs. Advocate for the importance of user-centered design throughout the organization. Create and maintain a coherent design system for use throughout our applications.
- Wireframing and Prototyping: Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, and prototypes to propose and communicate design solutions. Ensure these are effectively conveying the intended user experience.
- Interaction Design: Design intuitive and accessible interfaces that enhance user interaction. Pay meticulous attention to detail to every element.
- User Research: Conduct comprehensive user research to understand customer needs, behaviors, and motivations. Utilize methods such as surveys, interviews, and usability testing to gather actionable insights.
- User Interface Design: Ensure a cohesive and aesthetically pleasing design language across the product. Contribute to the development of design systems.
- Collaboration with Developers: Work closely with development teams to ensure designs are implemented as intended. Provide clear design specifications and support during the development process.
- Testing and Iteration: Facilitate user testing and analyze user feedback to iterate and refine designs. Employ a data-driven approach to design, making improvements based on metrics and user responses.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed design documentation for future reference and to aid in the consistency of the user experience across the product suite.
We’re looking for someone that has:
- 5+ Years of Relevant Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of five years in product design. This should include hands-on experience in conceptualizing, iterating, and refining designs, as well as successfully bringing products from idea to launch.
- Proficiency in Figma: The ideal candidate should have expert-level skills in Figma. This includes a deep understanding of its features for creating user interfaces, prototyping, and collaboration. Experience in utilizing Figma for creating high-fidelity designs and efficiently collaborating with development teams is essential.
- Experience Designing B2B Solutions: We value experience in designing business-to-business (B2B) solutions. The candidate should demonstrate a track record of understanding and meeting the unique needs of B2B clients, including creating designs that cater to professional, functional, and enterprise-level requirements.
- Expertise in Complex Dashboard Design: The role requires extensive experience in designing complex dashboards. This involves an ability to present complex data in an accessible, user-friendly manner, ensuring that the dashboards are not only functional but also intuitive and visually appealing.
- Experience in Mobile App Design: Candidates should have a portfolio showcasing their experience in mobile app design. This includes an understanding of mobile design principles, responsiveness, and creating user interfaces that provide an excellent mobile user experience.
