Product Designer
About Us
A massive shift is taking place within SaaS. Just as perpetual licensing gave way to subscription, subscription is giving way to usage-based pricing. But tying revenue to usage fundamentally changes how every part of the business operates, from billing teams to the C-suite. Turnstile is the modern stack to help companies adopt and scale with usage-based pricing.
We're a small, fully remote, and proven team with strong backing from First Round Capital, prominent usage-based founders and operators, and other top investors. The last company we started, Second Measure, scaled to 70+ people and tens of millions in revenue, received multiple "best places to work" awards, and was ultimately acquired by Bloomberg in a landmark deal.
The Opportunity
As our second designer, you'll play a pivotal role in our early team. You'll make a meaningful impact to the user interface and user experience of a comprehensive, web-based platform for usage-based SaaS operators and their customers. Working closely with product management and engineering, you'll deliver a delightful consumer-grade experience to business users for one of their most operationally critical systems.
You'll shape our product's foundation, take ownership over whole product areas, and help establish our design system. Using modern design tools like Figma, you'll design and prototype critical features that enhance our users' experience and ensure the product is aligned with our company vision. Additionally, you'll help define design practices and standards that support our culture of collaboration, authenticity, and excellence as we grow.
Joining us means becoming a key part of a tight-knit team of experienced operators and repeat founders who are shaping the future of SaaS. You'll help lay the foundation for our product as we continue to find product-market fit, while ensuring that the user interface and user experience are top-notch.
In this role, we'll ask you to:
- Partner with engineering, design, and product management to create a category-defining product
- Work independently to shape, design, and deliver whole features
- Communicate complex ideas clearly and incorporate feedback well
- Contribute to our design system using the latest Figma features and plugins, including integration with our frontend codebase
- Bring best-in-class product design standards and practices to the team
- Demonstrate familiarity with modern frontend technologies and APIs (ie. understand the ingredients your team can cook with)
We'd love to hear from you if:
- You have at least 5 years experience delivering fast, stable, and delightful experiences to SaaS customers
- You have prior experience working independently on projects and features
- You have deep expertise in Figma and a drawer full of "sharp tools" you're adept at using
- You're excited to build a product from the ground up with an experienced team
- You'd enjoy working in a dynamic and high-trust environment
- You have empathy for your customers, whether they be internal or external
- You believe how you achieve a result is just as important as the result itself
