Product Designer II

Visual Lease is looking for a Product Designer II. The ideal candidate will thrive in a work environment that requires strong independent problem-solving skills, self-direction, and innovative thinking coupled with an affinity for team collaboration and open communication.
This individual is both highly analytical as well as highly creative, and consistently demonstrates superb design, research, writing and presentation skills. This individual should foster collaboration both inside and outside of the team, evangelize and promote UX across the organization, and can juggle several high-level projects while delivering A-level work on all of them. This individual is confidently able to justify design decisions based on a thorough understanding of contemporary user-centered design methodologies and user research.
What You Will Do
- Translate concepts into user flows, mockups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences.
- Facilitate the VL product vision by researching, conceiving, prototyping and user-testing experiences for all VL applications.
- Design and deliver user journeys, and designs optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces.
- Understand design problems and devise elegant solutions.
- Make design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features.
- Deeply understands qualitative, and quantitative reasonings and can apply them appropriately to help make decisions.
- Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs.
- Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
- Helps in prioritizing design work and calls out opportunities as they arise.
- Ask smart questions, take risks and champion new ideas.
Skills and Competencies
- Three or more years of UX design experience. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience designing complex solutions for complete digital platforms.
- Expertise in standard UX software such as Figma, Figjam, Miro, and the like is a must. Basic HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills are a plus.
- Experience creating and implementing a Design System a must.
- Ability to work with Product and Development Teams to understand detailed requirements and design complete user experiences that meet customer needs and vision.
- A solid grasp of user-centered design (UCD), planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability and accessibility concerns.
- Your work is crisp and thorough — very few pixel-artifacts, misalignments, or issues with detailed design.
- Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and clients.
- Regularly share design work and bring in cross department partners when needed to encourage an open design culture
- A clear understanding of the importance of user-centered design and design thinking.
- You focus on projects that are of utmost importance to moving the company forward
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting including synthesizing abstract ideas into concrete design implications.
- Able to consistently build consensus amongst peers and stakeholders on decisions to drive projects forward.
- Regularly shares context and information to ensure both immediate team and other teams understand design work
- Be passionate about resolving user pain points through great design.
- Be open to receiving feedback and constructive criticism.
- Be passionate about all things UX and other areas of design and innovation. Research and showcase knowledge in the industry’s latest trends and technologies.

- Our headquarters are in Woodbridge, NJ, but we are happy to consider remote candidates in the following states: AZ, CO, DE, FL, GA, IL, KS, MD, MA, NH, NJ, NY, NC, OH, PA, RI, SC, TX, VA, and WA.
- The pay range for this position is $90,000– $115,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, we offer full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per the Pay Band Transparency Act.
