About The Job:

As a Product Designer on the Findability UX team, you will bring our purpose to life across digital experiences through the design of new retail experiences and the evolution of existing ones. You’ll be well-positioned to make an impact as a member of a nimble, friendly and high-performing team operating at the heart of Target’s growing digital business.

You thrive at the intersection of craft and design process. You’re a curious person who falls in love with problems and enjoys iterating toward a solution. You are passionate about user-centered design and leveraging research and empathy to make decisions. With direction from senior product designers, you’ll contribute to design deliverables for the Search experience, including visual design and flows that are intuitive, elegant, and provide value for our guests while accounting for a variety of scenarios.

You have visual design, information architecture, interaction design knowledge and approach problems with curiosity and empathy. You will take direction from senior product designers as you develop the skills necessary to work through the end-to-end design process from generative discovery and research through to iterative design solutions, while contributing to the process with low, medium, and high fidelity designs.

With direction and support from senior product designers, you’ll learn to practice design thinking to bring innovative ideas and designs to the guest shopping experience while championing the experimentation practices of our product, engineering and business teams to guide iteration.

You’ll partner with our UX Research team to continually empathize with your user and deliver iterative improvements to the experience that power personalized, relevant, and joyful Search experiences. You’ll leverage our design system to bring consistent and usable experiences to our guests, helping them find joy, belonging, and success in their Target shopping experience.

As a junior member of the product design team, you will receive development support from senior product designers within our organization and will have educational opportunities to invest in developing your skills to advance in your UX career. In addition to career development support from your design manager, you will have day-to-day mentorship from a senior product designer on your core working team.

About You:

  • 1+ years’ experience in digital software product work, with user experience emphases in research, UX architecture, interaction design and/or visual design
  • A portfolio featuring product design work and how you leverage the design process
  • Demonstrated knowledge of modern design and prototyping tools (such as Figma, Sketch, InVision)
  • Basic knowledge of UX design best practices
  • Awareness of data and research methodologies and ability to partner with research experts
  • Able to work will in a large organization with many partners
  • Able to communicate design decisions with grace, logic and data
  • Exhibit a growth mindset

This position may be considered for a Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that’s not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target. The salary range is :$66,500.00 USD - $119,700.00 USD. Pay is based on several factors which may include, but are not limited to education, work experience, certifications, labor markets, etc. In addition to your salary, Target cares about and invests in you as a team member, so that you can take care of yourself and your family.
