Product Manager
The Role
About CXL:
CXL is an e-learning company focused on digital marketing. It's 90% subscription, so similar to a SaaS business.
We’re a small but ambitious business, with a big impact. We punch above our weight.
Since our inception in 2011, we’ve made a name for ourselves as the top resource for conversion optimization expertise. We deliver known quality and have a strong brand with raving customers. We've built a reputation as THE destination for data-driven marketing training.
We’re self-funded, profitable, and grew 45% during the pandemic. We’re proud of that, but we want to grow faster.
There are very interesting challenges we’re tackling:
- Significantly upgrading and maintaining a Premium quality LMS Product and website.
- Reinventing our business model and go-to-market strategy as the world has changed so much over the last couple of years
We need to assess core parts of our tech stack, migrating or rebuilding what is needed.
We want to be different, bold, even outrageous. We need to run a lot of experiments and have a product that allows us to do that.
If this sounds like the kind of challenge you’d love, we want to talk to you.
*About the job:*
We are seeking a highly skilled Product Manager with a strong background in WordPress, front-end technologies, and UI/UX design to lead the development and continuous enhancement of our Learning Management System (LMS) and public-facing website.
The ideal candidate will be a dynamic individual who excels at creating and managing product roadmaps, can ruthlessly prioritise and groom our backlog and own and manage our product analytics.
*Responsibilities:*
- Develop and implement product strategies aligned with the company’s targets and user needs.
- Manage the roadmap and prioritization of new features and improvements for our LMS and website, including any migration of platforms and technology
- Write detailed product specifications and communicate regularly with developers and vendors
- Can design effective UI/UX mockups to guide development teams and designers.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, and content creators, to ensure seamless execution of product plans.
- Own, design and analyze product metrics to provide critical insights on our tech performance and user engagement.
- Own user feedback and research to continuously refine and improve product offerings.
- Ensure that all product initiatives are executed within budget and on schedule.
*Team structure and the day to day:*
- You will report directly President of CXL
- You will work closely with our content production team, development team and product consultant
- We have a daily standup to align our team across EU and US
- We will agree on your OKRs together as a team and will measure your performance against those.
About You:
- 3-5 years in Product management.
- Agile / Scrum experience.
- Proficiency with WordPress and a solid understanding of web technologies and software development processes.
- Strong competence in front-end technologies and UI/UX design principles.
- Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization abilities, with a knack for detail-oriented and creative problem-solving.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with diverse team members and stakeholders.
- Real results - you have, in reality, grown and built products; you can demonstrate this clearly and understand how to make that happen, preferably in B2B or SaaS
- Charisma - you can sell an idea in writing, visually and in speaking
- Creativity - excellent eye for a premium design with artistry and nuance but no pretentiousness; your work reflects this; you have tons of ideas and you know you can see things differently than most
- Vision - you have a vivid conception of what our product could be, should be, will be
- Customer obsession - if you could only get inside their heads, constantly thinking of how to do that but you know when to leap beyond the customer’s vision of what should be
- Planning - can orchestrate and harmonize a quarter of product activities across channels and team members and know what it’s going to take to execute
- Hands-on - you lead by example in the trenches; you are reluctant to let others have all the fun executing your vision
- Humility - you acknowledge just how wrong you can be, you own mistakes and celebrate the learning that comes from them
- Experimentation - you’re no stranger to user research and a/b testing; you believe that your intuitions can only take you so far and are looking to be surprised and corrected by the data
- Speed - once a direction is decided on, you take action immediately and you expect the same of your team
- Measurement - you understand data and love it, you know how to use it to win; familiarity with SQL and Google Analytics preferred
