Our data is used by leaders in engineering, international development, finance, government, insurance and NGOs. This is an exciting time to work within the ever-changing, fast-paced climate risk space. We're looking for a Product Manager who can apply their experience of catastrophe modelling to create new, market-leading products for both the insurance sector and other verticals.

Fathom recently joined the Swiss Re group, furthering its vision of becoming the gold standard in the provision of water risk intelligence.

THE ROLE: PRODUCT MANAGER

This role reports to the CPO and is responsible for ensuring our products are industry leading and that we have an ambitious and relevant roadmap that we consistently deliver on. A particular focus of this role is ensuring that our new catastrophe models contain the features that customers need and are well documented and straightforward to use. The role will engage with stakeholders in all areas of Fathom including the software and scientific development teams, Sales, Marketing and Customer Success.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensuring our products are innovative and high quality and meet customer needs
  • Bringing our new catastrophe models to market and ensuring they develop in line with customer feedback
  • Ensuring documentation is relevant and of a high standard
  • Enhancing the product acceptance process
  • Ensuring the product backlog is prioritised appropriately with the development teams
  • Coordinating closely with the Marketing team to ensure excellent product collateral and to support our go to market approach
  • Working closely with Customer Success and Sales to ensure customer feedback is included in our roadmap in a timely fashion
  • Providing product training to the Sales team

SKILLS & EXPERIENCES

Must have

  • Minimum 3 years hands-on experience of using catastrophe models
  • Strong GIS skills, including QGIS or equivalent
  • A passion for ensuring our products are outstanding and customer-focused and that the user experience is a good one
  • Attention to detail

  • A proactive and pragmatic approach
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
  • A can-do attitude
  • A keen interest in flood risk management

Desirable

  • Familiarity with the Oasis Loss Modelling Framework
  • Experience of the Nasdaq Risk Modelling for Catastrophes platform
  • Experience of catastrophe model validation
  • Experience in implementing QA/QC processes
  • Experience in agile methodology
  • Experience in using APIs
  • Python / R coding experience
