🤩 So, what is Sumtracker?

Sumtracker is a SaaS startup founded by IIT Delhi Alumni. It is a web based software application for merchants to manage inventory on their online and offline stores. Sumtracker is integrated with platforms such as Shopify, eBay, Etsy, BigCommerce, Amazon, WooCommerce and Walmart. We have a global client base in countries like US, UK and Australia. We are on a mission to grow Sumtracker and take on global SaaS competitors.

About this role – Product Manager

Product manager at Sumtracker is the full owner of the product. They are responsible for end to end functions that are required to successfully build a product and get users to love it.

Your Profile

  • Proven experience as a project manager, product manager or a developer for building software products
  • Deep understanding of product development in SaaS (Software as a service) business
  • Proven track record of communicating and collaborating with multiple teams such as engineering, design, and customer success teams
  • Familiarity with Scrum methodologies and ability to effectively lead and manage projects following these frameworks
  • Decent understanding of technologies (backend, frontend, cloud infrastructure) to effectively communicate with developers, evaluate feasibility, and make informed decisions based on technical considerations
  • Experience with project management and analytics tools such as Jira, OpsGenie, Confluence and PostHog
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Have analytical ability to break down a complex problem into smaller tasks and plan their execution
  • You are open to learning new stuff (super important)
  • You are humble, kind, and open to feedback (super duper important)

Product understanding

  • Develop full understanding of the product from user, technical and business perspective
  • Develop full understanding of the company vision and goals
  • Develop full understanding of the ICP and end users

Ownership of the Product

  • Take full ownership of the product and ensure that the product meets user expectations
  • Conduct thorough research and product analytics to know performance of product and its user adoption
  • Ensure product development and improvement continues aligned with the company goals

Feature Discovery

  • User Research: Ability to conduct interviews, surveys, and usability tests to gather insights about customer needs and pain points
  • Product Analytics: Understanding user behaviours and motivations to create solutions that truly address their needs
  • Market Research: Analysing market trends, competition, and potential opportunities to take informed decisions about our product strategy

Defining Product Roadmap

  • Design a roadmap for product development and communicate it effectively with the Founders and the Product team
  • Work closely with the Founders and create a product roadmap that aligns with the company vision and growth

Project Management

  • Use the product roadmap to design actionable projects for the engineering team
  • Defining project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management
  • Ensure that the engineering team has a clear understanding of the deliverables
  • Manage sprints, product releases and launches at regular intervals
  • Fulfill scrum duties of a Product Owner as needed, including conducting sprint planning, retros, meetings, and maintaining the product backlog
  • Act as a liaison between the product team and ensure they remain aligned with the project goals

Product Delivery

  • Ensure that the product delivery meets the product goals and user expectations

User Feedback and Product Analytics

  • Assess the performance of ongoing product updates
  • Take necessary action to maintain the high quality of the product and ensure high adaptability of the product
