Product Manager

Posted Nov 15

Hola! SunDevs Inc is a 7 year old company that started in a small Colombian town in Latin America, and is now present in the US with clients across North America. We have two main business lines: (1) Staff Augmentation through Nearshoring and (2) Digital Transformation Projects.

We have a great team working already with North American companies, with the majority being engineers, developers, and product designers. Our growth has come from absolutely killing it on the technical side and getting referrals from existing clients. Cinemark and Cafe Rio are two of our biggest clients that we work with from both business lines.

We believe that the caliber of tech talent is going to dictate the caliber of our future on a global scale. Our mission is to become the global standard for developing and sourcing tech talent - this means matching amazing humans with amazing companies that are building the future (from technology). We’re starting with the talent in Latin America.

This specific role will be focused on the Staff Augmentation business line by helping us support & develop the talent we have placed in our clients companies.

We are looking for talented individuals exclusively from Latin America to join our team. We value diversity and believe that team members from this region bring unique perspectives and experiences. If you are from Latin America and interested in this opportunity, we would love to hear from you!

We empower cross-functional product teams to solve customer and business problems effectively. Each team consists of a product manager, designer, and engineers with the necessary skills. The product manager ensures valuable and viable solutions while considering business constraints and user knowledge. Collaboration and innovation are key, with the product manager working closely with the designer and engineers. We hold our teams accountable for delivering results and value confident product managers who can influence others using data and logic. This is an individual contributor role within the product team.

A typical day in your job involves reviewing usage metrics for your product, holding a daily scrum meeting for task updates, sharing insights with your product team on new opportunities, meeting stakeholders from customer-facing teams, conducting customer interviews, and ensuring your prototype aligns with marketing constraints. Your time is ideally divided into gathering customer requirements, analyzing product performance, and collaborating with the engineering team.

What We Look For In You

SunDevs is a young company with an average age between 25 and 35 years; we are young people who learn and move fast, and we are implementing several changes across the company, including adopting Site Reliability Engineering practices, Outcome-based Roadmaps, and a Strong Product team culture. We only have a few senior managers. That's why we are looking for a person with an outstanding sense of ownership, autonomy, and accountability capable of bringing the DNA of modern product discovery practices into our engineering teams.

You will agree that when a product succeeds, everyone on the team does what they need to do, but most responsibility will fall on the product manager when a product fails.

We need you to help us to teach and set the mindset of the product team in your daily work. What does working under outcome-based roadmaps, objectives, and key results mean? Here, we don't celebrate the delivery but the impact on our customers' business objectives.

You must become the best version of Smart, Creative, and Persistent if you want your product team to take you seriously and if you want to succeed in this position.

We expect from you:

To become an expert in your users and customers. Share very openly what you learn, both the good and the bad. Be your team's and your company's go-to person for understanding anything about your customer—quantitative and qualitative.

Work to establish a strong relationship with your key stakeholders and business partners. Convince them of two things: (1) You understand the constraints they operate under. (2) You will only bring to them solutions that you believe will work within those constraints.

Become an undisputed expert on your product and your industry. Again, share your knowledge openly and generously.

Finally, build and nurture a strong collaborative relationship with your product team. We expect you to be a warm and hands-on leader, who cares for the team and leads by example.
